Julien nods, he understands the want for alone time with a friend. Or as alone as they can get.
“But you can have the next round instead of me. Then you can play Thimble.” says Occtis.Oh. Julien gets the full picture now. Having Thimble joining them, the odd look, the choice of a two player game. It's not that they just want to play by themselves. Occtis doesn’t want to be around him. The thought hurts more than it has any right to.

Julien does not believe his companions care about him or that they should, a point that seems to be proven right time and time again. He deals with it, until he can't.

Summary
The sound of rustling ahead yanks Julien from his thoughts. About sixty feet ahead he spots a large hare, foraging through the undergrowth and right out in the open. Its back is to Julien, and he barely dares to take a breath as he creeps closer, Pin stalking forward a few steps behind and shortbow in hand. He is able to advance almost ten feet, slowly notching an arrow. He keeps his eyes on his prey as it continues to forage, unaware of his presence behind it. He is close enough now to feel comfortable landing a clean shot. Julien shifts his weight, and takes one more step, intending to position himself better for the shot.
Julien places his foot down, heel meeting something hard.

Summary
He can hear his lord moving about and muttering to himself. There is the sound of a fire being lit and something clanking together. A minute passes, and Julien feels the chill of ink marking his lower back, making goosebumps raise across his whole body. When that is done, Occtis’s gloved fingers brush through his hair and slip the blindfold off. Occtis plays with Julien’s hair, making Julien keen and lift his head slightly into the touch, a happy sign leaving his lips. Once Occtis pulls his hand away he walks to a brazier that Julien did not fully register before. Four irons rest on the edge, the ends growing red hot over the green flame.

Occtis has owned Julien for some time now, and decides to reward him with a permanent mark of that ownership.

Summary
Chasing after Julien, the shadow is still wrestling the knight down the stairs at an alarming speed. A green fire bolt flashes from Occtis’s gloved hand, and before the flame even reaches its target Occtis can tell that it will miss, his rush to reach Julien throwing his aim too far to the left, scorching the wall. The shade does not stop its movement and Julien is not able to break free himself.

He doesn’t know why Julien left the inn without his weapons or armor, but now they are both here, in the middle of the night and several streets away from their group. A cough racks through Julien’s body, blood and another pained moan coming with it.

Julien Davinos goes out alone to blow off some steam and it goes south, Occtis finds him after going out for a late night walk.

“No! I’m not trying to be- I am just curious,” Occtis tries to clarify.
Julien’s expression is still guarded as he scrutinizes Occtis, finally after a tense few seconds, he huffs, “Fine, what do you want to know?”

Occtis notices that Julien is acting strangely, and questions him on it. The conversation turns out far more enjoyable than either would ever expect.

After casting life transference to save him, Julien insists on taking care of the wound on Occtis's arm. The only problem is what lies under the glove, turns out it wasn't a problem at all.

Lieutenant Vachari takes the bag offered by the other officer and pulls out the cruel whip. Julien had not dared to hope for something better, but that does not stop his shudder seeing the nine tailed whip in the hands of the man. He cracks it once in the air, making eye contact with Julien and he grins cruelly at the sight of Julien’s flinch.

Summary
The sun is further into the sky as he steps into the garden and the pinks and reds illuminate the world around him. It is easier here, alone and with a sword in hand to deal with the shadows that have taken to haunting him as of late. Julien lets his racing thoughts and terror melt to the wayside as he loses himself in the simple drills.

Julien is struggling to sleep since returning home after the rebellion, and has taken to spending his mornings in the garden. Raimond joins him one of these days.

The trance-like state is so easy to fall into like this, mind almost blank with the racing thoughts finally running free. There is something in the back of his mind that says this is bad. That this blissful state is wrong, that he needs his thoughts and his broken useless body. It’s not hard to ignore, syrup pushing the alarm away.
