Sky started smiling. "Time," he breathed. "I think this is our new Hero."
"Sky, keep your distance," Time said.
Sky ignored him. "Do you hear the voice? The voice inside the sword—"
"Stay away," the Hero warned. He was moving back, body on the defensive. "I mean it."
"You... what's wrong? I don't..." The dark hood of the Hero fell back, revealing his face. Large, thick burn scars engulphed his face, permanently disfiguring him. Even Sky faltered for a second. "We both wield the Master Sword. What does she say to you, Hero—"
"I hear nothing," the Hero said. He took another step back, before the Hero's body turned a bright blue.
"Wait—!" Sky said, rushing forward. "You don't need to be afraid, you don't need to be—" The Hero's body shattered into a million strings of light, scattering into the wind like the leaves before it, disappearing entirely.
"—alone..." Sky finished, defeated.
OR: As Sky spooks the newest iteration of the Hero into running away, it is Twilight who befriends the boy, bringing this new, hurt Link into their hodgepodge family of adventurers.

"Well?" Legend raised an impatient eyebrow, and Wild turned away. How was he going to explain this? He'd told them virtually nothing of his journey. How was he supposed to convey how terrible this situation was? That the Blights had been revived.

He didn't even realize what he was doing until Vah Ruta responded.
He looked around the control room, just to be certain there was no one else. Well, there was Mipha's spirit but she looked just as surprised as he did.
D- Did he do that?
Or: Link gets a lot more control over the divine beasts that he ever thought he would. Who thought this would be a good idea?

Summary
The unthinkable happened. The Calamity won, and darkness reigned over the land.
Hyrule is shattered, chunks of land ascending into the sky, luckily missing any settlements.
The Sheikah barely have a chance to activate the Shrine of Resurrection before it too ascends.
High up in the clouds above, the long forgotten Loftwings sense new islands ascending into the sky.
Only this time, there's a flickering light of a soul deep inside one of the islands, sealed by something they can't recognise. It makes them curious, so they reach out and feel something unknown connect.
That is, until a new soul emerges from a place full of unknown technology, a blank slate they latch onto.
The Hylians had no way of knowing the old stories of the Loftwing soul bonds were actually true.
Or: Upheaval and Calamity basically happen as the same event. Hylia sends her hero into the skies to keep them safe once more. The Loftwings that remain up above decide Link is their favorite Hylian of all time. They latch onto him immediately, and now Link has a ton of bird friends.

Summary
With the Master Sword once again rejecting him, Link spends some time in he Korok forest. He came all the way, and the little one’s always seemed to like it when he visited so, what was the harm?
It never occurred to him that maybe it wasn’t the Master Sword he was destined to wield.
Deep in the forest within a forgotten temple, a sword of sleeping power awoke. It’s call heard by a new hero, to wield against evil once more.
May the four sword serve you well.

Link has survived a one hundred year coma, fought monsters four times his size, solved puzzles designed to kill him, shot a giant pig with a glowing bow, and figured out his relationship with Zelda after the mess that their previous one has been one hundred years ago.
But he's not going to survive being the new "baby" of a group of past reincarnations of himself if someone doesn't start taking him seriously.
(AKA: Wild gets hit with magic while teleporting, and in another world, the boys get warped through a corrupted tunnel. This causes their paths to intersect earlier than intended by Hylia as she scrambles to keep them from exploding during the switch, and some strange..."side effects" occur. Mainly, Wild being shrunk down into a body that is 110 years younger than his original, and no one believing him that he is 117 as he drags them across Hyrule to Hateno. Twilight also refuses to explain anything.)

Summary
Time and Wind are the first heroes to meet each other, and, to their quiet surprise, they get along extremely well. It's when they run into a third hero that things start to get tense; The Hero of the Wild is airy, detached, and maybe even a little too eager, and even though Wind and Time feel bad about their suspicions, they can't help treating him differently.
However, Time and Wind quickly realize that Wild's heart is just as golden as everyone claims it is.

Maybe this was all an elaborate act, and the Yiga had studied his brothers to bring him down. That thought was dashed to pieces when Hyrule took a giant bite of the fruit without peeling it. Wind sputtered next to him, and Legend was now on his feet, coming over, looking like the Traveler had greatly offended him. Wild laughed.
