Summary
“All gifts have a price, Tseng. I myself know that and paid my price long after knowing it would happen. And so did you. You almost died for me. And Tseng?” She took his hands in hers. “Thank you. I’m sorry I was a brat a lot, and hated you for so long, but then I knew who you really were, not just what you represented. I think you must have forgiven me, considering my upbringing. Those are different things. And nuance takes a bit, especially for a young girl, Cetra or not. But I got it. And you did so much to protect me. Go. Live. I’ll be there for you. I’ll protect you now.”

Summary
There was a time, before all was created, when Minerva and Chaos were like mirrors of one another. Minerva, with her hair like spun gold, her eyes the color of cloudless skies, and Chaos, his hair like inky tendrils, black as sin, eyes red like the very blood that flowed within them.

“It’s-” He met her gaze for the first time. “It’s gone. But I spent so long not realising she was calling to me and now-” Sephiroth shrugged. “Now everything is different. Finished.”
“Finished?” She pushed at his shoulder. “Finished? Oh, we’re nowhere close to finished. Jenova might be dealt with but Shinra are still here.” She leant closer. “Still churning out SOLDIERs. Still running Mako plants.” She winced. “Hojo’s still allowed to do his freaky experiments.”
Aeris finds Sephiroth as her companions complete their mission.

Summary

Summary
She had done what she had set out to do - it was over. Almost, at least. With the back of her hand, Aerith wiped a trickle of blood from her cheek and frowned at the edge of the platform where Sephiroth lay struggling against inevitability.
In the City of the Ancients, Aeris kills Sephiroth with the white materia, as she was meant to do. What else have the Cetra left for her?

Dreams? What were they? A warped reality of the truth? Forced into being a public figure head for Shinra was no easy task during the war with Wutai. Having a target on her head didn’t help her stress at all. Pre-CC leading through all events.

Summary
Visiting Nibelheim never became more comfortable, and this latest occasion was no exception – despite the Mako taint in the air near faded to nothing. Hard to articulate how alien the place felt. At first glance it was a town five years out of time and impossibly here. At a closer look it revealed hundreds of inconsistencies, errors, shortcuts and mistakes. No need to venture into the long-since abandoned shell of what purported to be Tifa’s house; Cloud was likewise reluctant to go home and find it still empty.
A report based on investigation by Reeve indicated the facsimile town would not last long. Not only a poor replica, but shoddily made too. Shinra’s cover-up assembled in haste and not remotely equipped to deal with the weather below the peak of Mount Nibel. The houses, the water tower, the hotel, the shops; all would collapse on their own, rotting and crumbling away over time – returning to the Planet much like the prior inhabitants.
Not why she, Cloud and Yuffie were here.
Tifa, Cloud and Yuffie return to Nibelheim to make sure the last remaining traces of the Jenova project are gone.

Summary
The whispering intensified each step of the way. The Planet was nervous – but not outside the norms Aeris experienced. Her nerves, the strange prickling feeling sweeping along her spine and left her almost dizzy all too familiar. They came in waves, peaks and troughs breaking across her unpredictably.
The Planet expects something of her; Aeris doesn't feel able to not comply.

Summary
She could say the words. Speak them here in the night-time, in the stillness. But somehow not enough. They would fade, vanish from the world, the knowledge imparted lost. If she could not say them- Padding across the floor, Aeris opened one of her exercise books. What to say? Not enough to simply say it. There needed to be more.
She wrote quickly. 'Sector Five. Hyper Stop. Girl. End of aisle 2. Black hair, black jacket, black skirt. Someone close to her has returned to the Planet.'
Aeris knows - somehow - when certain people return to the Planet. Shinra are deeply interested in the limits of the ability; the denizens of Sector Five think she's weird.

Aeris's journey from lab rat to flower girl to member of Avalanche.

Summary
Fire had fascinated Aeris Gainsborough all her life; it was part of her, part of who she was and how she lived. Her obsession and maybe also a curse. Her earliest memories of it were uncomfortable reminders of her captivity and the ever present menace of Hojo.
Each Cetra has a specific type of magic unique to them; Aeris's is fire.

Summary
The first ghost slid in front of her. An approximation of walking, of human movement, but rendered somehow wrong by a last tenacious defiance before the spirit merged back into the Lifestream. A human who diverted from their path; they should be seeking out a loved one in their final dwindling moments. Instead they clustered to her, like moths to a flame.
Aeris regularly pulls away from Avalanche for what they assume is praying.

Summary
Strange day. The evening seemed lifeless and meandering once Tifa got back from the mountain, her attention drifting from the mundane present to the curious and novel. She stopped to peek out into the night on the way to bed; lights still burned within the Shinra mansion. Sephiroth was awake.
Tifa reflects on the day's events - and what she found while guiding two SOLDIERs up to the Mount Nibel Mako reactor.

Summary
Kalm was new. The world was new. No plate overhead. Amazing. People who lived their lives out in the open, never heading below plate to go to the slums, or ascend up to the sky via the train. Smaller than Midgar. Smaller than Sector Five. Flowers. Other flowers on sale here, blooms and species Aeris had never seen before. The food tasted better; once Cloud finished relating the events of Nibelheim five years previous, Avalanche headed downstairs for lunch.
Aeris has wound up at Kalm thanks to a SOLDIER falling through her ceiling leading her from new experience to new experience. And now the weather.

Summary
After his defeat in the Northern Cave, Sephiroth establishes himself in the Lifestream. Searching for memories to base his avatars on, he comes across the perfect candidates.
A very very dark fic. If you like misery overdose, this is the one for you. Not explicit though; the reason I rated this Mature is simply because of the sheer Four Horseman levels here. It's dark. More positive endgame. Apart from the beginning and the end, it's written from the first person, for what it's worth. World-building which combines old-style nineties RPGs feels with social realism. I guess the product is something close to character-based action adventure? Anyway, hope people enjoy.
On hiatus at the moment, but I completely intend to return to this at some point. I'll polish and upload the several tens of thousand of words on this at some, I'm sure.

Summary
Aeris stirred with a groan. Above shafts of brighter light stabbed down, whorls of dust drifting in random movements. Sunlight? Or one of the floodlights Shinra used. What had-? The memories came in a rush; the second reactor assault, the lack of resistance or security. The alarms silently deactivated before they ventured inside. Everything going a little too well. Shinra troops waiting for them on the way out, President Shinra gloating before a helicopter whisked him away.
Surviving Air Buster and a fall from the Upper plate, Aeris Gainsborough awakes inside a church in the Sector Five slums.

Summary
Aeris didn't date for most of her teenage years. Other people dated. Supposedly a fun and sometimes wonderful experience, including various intimate activities and someone to go places with. But the various slum-dwellers who expressed anything resembling romantic or other interest in Aeris remained worryingly older, friends, or people she had no interest in spending time with – let alone considering them romantic interests. Until Zack Fair.

Summary
Aeris raised her eyebrows. “I thought Nibelheim was quiet?”
“It is. But it’d be pointless to go back now; Shinra sent three divisions to that island.” Cloud gestured at the map. “Something’s happening and soon. And I’m certain you’re the only person who might be able to understand what.”
Doctor Aeris Gainsborough knows everything about the Cetra. Or so she thinks until a stranger turns up with an artefact the like she has never seen before.
