Summary
After a frustrating battle with a brand-new wizard wielding Asgardian spells, Tony Stark has seized upon magic as his next field of study to crack. This goes about as well as to be expected, especially when Pepper is gifted a dragon's egg and the team finds out just who is behind offering magic to Midgardians.
MCU-Verse, sort of a fix-it for IM3 and how it handwaved away Pepper's Extremis at the end, plus a hint of dragon. Tony-PoV, Pepper-PoV and Thor-PoV.
ETA March 2023: Not abandoned, just rewriting the climactic chapter for the third time. :fingerguns:

Summary
When a failed attempt at stealing one of Asgard's sacred golden apples is made, the unexpected results leave the Royal family and the Avengers, stunned with questions. Tony finds he's making double takes everywhere he goes, and everyone else is desperate to get to the bottom of things, but how does one explain multiple Lokis', when magic isn't at play. Loki is just as confused as everyone else as to whats going on, and it doesn't help that their only lead, knows about as much as anyone else does.

"Once we're sure you're stable, we're not going to pay you to sleep," Coulson said, "But until then your sleeping data is just as useful as your waking data, and," he shrugged, "Certain influences are keen that Extremis survivors in particular be fairly compensated for their time."
("Maybe if we pay off the explosive guy he won't blow up," Mike translated. As the explosive guy in question, he felt surprisingly okay with that, and wondered why the other guys hadn't tried that when they gave him the Centipede in the first place.)
