Detective Kaleb Rockwell is one of the best at the Detroit Police Department—sharp, methodical, and always one step ahead. He’s private, reserved, and seems to know just a little too much. But that’s never been a problem. Not until Connor arrives.
As an advanced prototype assigned to investigate deviant androids, Connor is designed to notice inconsistencies, to analyze patterns, to detect what others overlook. And something about Kaleb doesn’t add up. Nothing obvious. Just small things—habits, reflexes, the way he carries himself. The way he watches Connor like he’s searching for something.
As tensions rise and the city spirals into chaos, the lines between duty, morality, and something deeper begin to blur. Connor is forced to confront questions he was never programmed to ask, and Kaleb is holding onto secrets that refuse to stay buried.
The closer Connor gets to the truth, the more uncertain he becomes about what side he’s really on. And for the first time in his existence, he hesitates.

You juggle your life while working as a detective, decoding murder cases and feelings alike. It isn't easy. When you investigate homicide victims, you have to try not to become one yourself. But Detroit's criminals never let up, and neither do you.

The world was changing, because Jericho had won, and now androids could live in harmony with humans— would be the description of a cheesy fairytale where all the main characters rode off into the sunset, and everything was covered in gold and perfect. They had won, that was true. But, people were going to take years to change, and adapt. Androids were still being mistreated, abandoned, denied shelter because locals didn’t want ‘dangerous deviants’ in their neighborhood. One thing that was certain, was they could be united by their heartache, by their pain, despite the color they bled.
So, these are their stories. The tales of a boy who didn’t know what he wanted, until he found it standing right in front of him; family. The tales of a man whose own prejudices wouldn’t even blind him when he found love somewhere he never expected it; in an android.

Connor's brow furrows as he accesses the new ID and doesn't see Lieutenant Anderson listed under Handler. In fact... he is listed under Handler and instead of being under partner or associate, he's been placed above a Trainee named-
"FuzzButtIncoming, come." The PC200 android calls out, and through a slot in the door on the other side of the room, a tiny bundle of fur almost buried under a DPD K-9 Unit vest comes gamboling up to stand beside it.
Someone had desperately wanted those initials to spell FBI.
