“Don’t torture yourself, Twilight,” Warriors says before he could spit out any of it, his fury fading as he sees Warriors’s hand shake from where it hovers over Wild’s now closed eyes. “It’s hard enough as it is.”
Twilight swallows thickly and refuses to shift his gaze to where Warriors’s own does, just a little below Wild’s stomach. Instead, he pulls his protege closer and ignores the way Wild’s head lolls lifelessly on the crook of his arm.
((Or the one where a hunt goes wrong, it gets worse, the ends in the worst way possible, and all that Twilight has left is the hope that he had misunderstood the meaning of his protege's words when he had said his champion friends had taken their gifts with them once they said goodbye for good.))

It turns out that ignoring the possibility of yet another heart-stopping moment (courtesy of Wild) does not, in fact, prevent such a moment from occuring.
Time should know this by now. This does not make the first time Wild uses Recall any less of a shock to his system.
OR
Time gets smacked in the face with a very familiar sort of temporal magic, this time it genuinely did just slip Wild's mind, and Twilight... Twlight needs a moment. Or five.

The group had gone silent at the newfound information. They felt bad for putting on the spot like that, even if it was by accident. Surprisingly though, Legend was the one to break the awkward silence, “Ah, I forgot to mention, I don’t exactly live alone.” He told them as they all reached the doorsteps. “Just a quick warning, he can sometimes be a bit, eccentric I suppose is a way you can put it.”
Legend started to reach for the doorknob as he continued his talking, “Now–”
Legend hadn’t even got the chance to lay a finger on the knob before the door flew open and a blur of purple rammed itself into their dear Hero of Legends.
“Mr Hero, you’re home!”

Spirit often found himself wishing he were as naturally brave and willing to be heroic as Wind so often was, but never had he felt the sentiment more than he did in that moment. He wanted to hesitate, wanted to hold back and let someone else handle the problem, but there wasn’t anyone else. It was him or Twilight, and Spirit wasn’t going to sit back and watch his brother be harmed when he could prevent it from ever happening in the first place.
This was going to hurt, most definitely.

Wild hated getting his memories back. They could be triggered by seemingly anything, they forced the entire group to stop or have someone stay with him until he got over it, which mostly ended up being Twilight, and he tended to end up feeling terrible. Even the good ones were bittersweet, when he saw glimpses of a family that was long gone or a fleeting moment when his life wasn’t destined to be a nightmare, only to open his eyes a century later having lost everything.
He knew it was starting to become a hindrance on their quest and the last thing he wanted to be was a burden.
