Captain Lars commands a liberated Gem warship, on which Steven and Pearl are recovering, with Adora, Catra, and Connie comforting them. As tensions run high, can these newfound friends of Cleo help her in her time of need, even though they have never heard of Octavian nor know of the power he holds?
Mayet is still on edge, as Octavian forces a confrontation with Octavian and the Gem army continues their invasion of the planet to make it another colony of the Diamonds. How will the heroes defeat these villains? And…will the relationship between Cleo and Callie be repaired?

Dimensional travel! Steven and the Gems agree to help Rhodonite, but before they leave, Connie reports that Catra, Adora's friend (or more than a friend) from beyond the stars, is missing. Pearl, Adora's girlfriend, has something to do with the disappearance, but won't disclose it for fear of hurting Adora, despite possible repercussions on their relationship...
P.Y.R.A.M.I.D. is under attack from a traitorous Khepra, in the employ of the villainous Octavian, while Admiral Jack plans to invade the planet of Mayet, and Cleo struggles to ground herself in the new reality, dealing with a flirty Callie. Later, Adora and Catra travel through the Pearl's memoryscape on a journey of self-discovery and understanding.
The fate of Mayet and the Nile Galaxy hang in the balance. Cleo, her friends, the Off Colors, and the Crystal Gems face their greatest challenge yet, facing the wrath of Admiral Jack, hostile Gem warriors, Octavian, and Xerxs led by Khepra. Cleo is shaken by the events of the previous night, when she fainted in Callie's room, with Callie giving her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, meaning that their lips touched. Callie, wanting Cleo to acknowledge her feelings, attempts to talk to her, and Cleo accidentally says that she wants to kiss Callie, despite her annoyance with this "mean girl" who has her own posse at P.Y.R.A.M.I.D. Barely getting to history class on time, Cleo is greeted by an annoyed Akila, and panics when she can't find her history textbook. After her request to her professor, Khensu, who is also her mentor, to go to the bathroom, is denied, she reads the textbook with Akila. Unintentionally revealing she is the savior of the galaxy, Khensu, following the guidelines of the P.Y.R.A.M.I.D. Council, stating that Cleo cannot reveal she is a savior, declares that Cleo is an outright liar. Cleo is hurt so much by this that she storms out of the classroom. Later, when Akila and Khensu find her, about to board her Sphinx Bike, she kisses someone in a fit of passion, surprising her friends. She immediately regrets the kiss. An emotional wreck, she leaves Mayet. With Cleo's absence and dark forces afoot, Captain Lars plans a daring skyjacking operation.
