I am a bit late to EAD this year... got distracted by the Dreamling Bingo and Cyclone Gabrielle... anyway, here is the first of my offerings.
For 'Hob has been Archangel Michael all along' prompt. It's supposed to be a 5 times Dream didn't know Hob was Michael and 1 time he did thing... but so far only the first one has been done... because the Dreamling Bingo has consumed all else...

Summary
Nothing he doesn’t deserve, of course. He just wishes sometimes for something different. It’s too late now, of course. He’s at the end of his life, even in this nightmare state he can feel his heart failing, his lungs struggling. His body is losing its fight, and even if it were not, he’s trapped in eternal terror.
But that’s okay, he’s been afraid all his life. As he feels his heart stutter and stop, his awareness shuddering and blurring at the edges, he wonders if perhaps he’ll finally get to learn what peace feels like.

Hob was certainly aware of the supernatural, but he always kept it in his periphery. The beyond natural world that he does his best to avoid for all that he walks a half step inside it. The closest he got was once every hundred years in the White Horse, chatting with his Stranger, his mysterious man who is not a Man.
Yes, sure, he’s an immortal man from the 1300’s, but he spends his days with the worst and best of humanity. He doesn’t need to add demons and magic to the mix for him to find wonder and sorrow all on his own. He still has so much of the mundane to explore- to live for. Maybe, he always thought, he would get bored and start exploring the supernatural that seemed more his Stranger’s purview than his own. Perhaps in a few hundred more years.
Pity, then, that the supernatural came to him.

Summary
Roderick Burgess kidnaps Hob Gadling on June 7, 1989, intending to break both him and Dream. Instead, Dream being rather aggressively tortured triggers the knowledge of Hob's identity as Hope of the Endless, wrapped away in a mental box as they had been.

Once Dream is tended to, a kettle of tea on, Hob – he's Hob again, he thinks, though he's also still Hope, but he's not winged and glowing anymore – slumps next to the bed in a chair.
This is … extremely not how he'd thought the week would be going. Two days ago he had simply been the immortal Hob Gadling. Dream starts mumbling something in unconsciousness, delirious.
