Because I am a crazy person, I have decided to take Destiny all the way back to its roots and give it a story that doesn't make me physically upset, so:
A Guardian rises from the dead on a snowy peak far from the reach of the Tower. When he falls under the purview of the Vanguard, it doesn't take long for people to realize he holds more power than the average green power ranger. On his journey to discovering his potential, he is accompanied by a time-lost friend who followed him from death to rebirth. (I’m not over Cayde and I never will be, so here’s 100k words of self-indulging wish fulfillment that no one asked for but are getting anyway, that’s somehow my longest cohesive work of fiction to date.)

Star please don't burn out tonight.
When you meet someone in a bar, it's rare that anything really ever comes of it. For most Guardians, in fact, the bar is pretty much the most constant part of their lives. Fighting, dying, getting back up - all of that loses its luster and the bar is a pretty good place to go to try and forget it. Or find something to drown yourself in.
Except for one Warlock, who hardly ever goes to the bar, and seems to have a pretty in-considerably inconsistent relationship with being present when needed to be accounted for. Or at least, that's what Cayde-6 says of her when asked. A trickster, a scholar, and all in between, her story starts in the stars, and eventually, is writ there for what she finds, what she fights against and what she fights for.
There's always something more to lose.

Unto. An archaic form of the word ‘to’. A gun needs a target, just as a knife does.
Fury. Wild and violent anger. That is the only word I can think of to describe the rage boiling within my fists.
I decided to come back. I decided to end this, once and for all. Let grief fuel my Light in striking my enemies down. At least, then, the Darkness will be engulfed in guiding flame.

The Guardian returns from the Witness’s victory, hoping to save his world from a dark future. He has his work cut out for him—there are allies to make, events to prevent, fellow anomalies to collaborate with. The Young Wolf will have to decide what he needs to excise out of history and what he should let happen, for he knows better than anyone that a single, wrong choice can lead to the Flower Game’s end.
