    Kenobi pauses, like pondering over how to explain a complicated situation. “Will of the Force.” he shrugs finally, and smiles.

    “Will of the Force will be your death, then.”

    “Couldn't expect less. Wouldn't want otherwise. But I don't think that way.” Kenobi's eyes flicker around the room. “It is a corner... for war, for— something bigger. I should be here.”

    So they move deeper in the temple, Dooku cursing Kenobi's foolishness, both having their own objectives.

    He could ignite his saber the moment Sidious asked him to, of course.

    Then Sidious could see the blue, of course. Then he could say, you have made your decision, then? Dooku could say, yes.

    Sidious could reach for his own saber swiftly, saying, what a waste.

    And Dooku could have been, of course, dead on the floor.

    So he doesn't do that.
    OR
    Dooku is trying to make his kyber crystal bleed upon the orders of Sidious but instead he sees a vision from the crystal--respectively killing Sidious, and finding Yoda to ask him to kill his former student.
    (A fix-it with direct Dooku and Vader parallels because the idea of trying to corrupt one's crystal and seeing deterrent visions is cool, thanks marvel comics!)
