Summary
Robin is a high-masking lady with invisible disabilities. A Terran Navy Veteran, a widow, a space pirate, and now, checks notes, a pet. She thinks her overcoming of her disabilities, of her pain and shame, is what gives her strength. But, benevolent precursor plant-based aliens have taken away that pain and are doing their damnedest to ensure Robin lives the happiest, carefree life she deserves. Too bad she doesn’t see it that way.

Disclaimer: this work is set in the Human Domestication Guide setting. While I'm trying my best to ensure it is newbie friendly, having a familiarity with some of the fantastic works that in large part inform this one would hopefully add greater depth to it (e.g., Divaricated, Abscission, Grocery Run, and a slew of other works I should probably have noted). Pay attention to those CWs and strap in, because this is going to be a slow build.

Twenty years ago, the Warlord of the North came down out of the mountains and slew the king of Kaedwen, taking crown and kingdom for his own. Everyone expected him to be overthrown almost immediately, but he has only grown ever more secure in his position. Finally, the other countries around Kaedwen have begun to negotiate with him as they would any other king.
To seal the new treaty between Redania and the Warlord, Lady Milena de Roggeven, third daughter of the Duke of Roggeven, has been sent to marry whichever of the Warlord’s men he chooses.
Milena is starkly terrified of everything about her new husband; every rumor she has ever heard about the barbarians of the north seems worse than the last, and Lambert clearly despises the very thought of marriage.
Lambert of the Wolves is still grieving his lost lover, dead more than three years now. The last thing he wants is to be married off to a terrified stranger, and he can’t imagine why Geralt and Eskel think he of all people is suited to a diplomatic marriage.

Author takes a half-baked smutty idea and turns it into a fully-fleshed out goddamn world with beautiful imagery. Battle scenes remind me of the first time I fought a high dragon in DA:I, the shock, the awe, the legit fear. And none of the characters suffer from the immortal dilemma plaguing any romance-adjacent genre of “there’s a big misunderstanding that we could just resolve by saying one or two sentences to each other but we won’t do that for some reason”. Healthy communication! Yeah!
