Summary
The first time Cole saw himself in the mirror, he almost didn’t recognize his reflection. Green mist where his face was supposed to be, his skin see-through like a dusty window, even his black gi tainted in an otherworldly glow. He looked in the mirror, and a ghost stared back.
But in the end, his sacrifice was worth it – they defeated the Preeminent, they exiled the (other) ghosts from Ninjago, and most important of them all, Lloyd was safely back with the team. And with no imminent threat on the horizon, maybe it was time he began his journey to self-acceptance.
Being a ghost should come with some benefits, after all. Even if sometimes the cons seem to outweigh the pros.
Even if it feels harder and harder to hold onto his humanity with each passing day.
Even if the others seem to be forgetting about him a lot more frequently recently.

Summary
As a kid, Lloyd spent hours walking around the bounty, alone. He hated being so isolated all the time while the ninja were busy with missions. He was grateful that they took him in, but couldn't help be upset that they never brought him anywhere, and spent his days waiting for the ninja to come back.
It was almost funny, how many years later, Lloyd still felt like a kid, wandering the empty halls of the monastery, waiting for his family to come home.
OR
my take on kid lloyd's experience on the bounty before realizing he's the green ninja, and then lloyd in dragons rising feeling similar to how he did so long ago.

When he was awake, when he returned to the consuming loneliness that was his life, he slowly forgot about them. He forgot their voices and the few features that clung to his vision, save for the feeling of longing tied to them.
He had no choice after all, but to focus on pretending that it didn't matter.
"Jay, did you know that there's a realm where they waste their time writting all day because they think they're altering destiny or something?"
And then, was also that kid.
