Summary
Several years after Lance escapes the clutches of the memory of Allura (and pushes down his love for Keith), he has made a small family of his own; a beautiful wife and wonderful child. It's not a life he imagined, teaching at the museum and living on his quaint, simple farm, but he's let go of any past gripes and now he lives contently.
Until it's all ripped from him.

On your wrist is a meter of how dangerous your soulmate is which is shown by color and is relative to your own strength. So if you’re strong and your soulmate is weaker compared to you it would show that they aren’t dangerous. Pale green is the least dangerous and dark red is the most dangerous. Underneath the meter is a phrase saying how dangerous your soulmate is. Saiki’s says that his soulmate isn’t a threat. Saiko’s says that his is catastrophically dangerous.

Zuko had the scrawny prison guard over and on his back in an instant. His fist curled above his head, igniting itself in flames as he landed on top of him, lips pulled back in a scowl. "Not this time, you piece of shit."
"Whoa, wait wait wait wait! Stop! It's me!" The guard heaved. Dark tan hands peeled off the helmet. Beneath it was an impossible face; one that he remembered had nestled against his arm ten months ago. Zuko's breath sucked in, fast and dry.
"Yeah," Sokka huffed, a soft smile slowly curling onto his lips as Zuko's fire died in shock. "You're okay now. It's just me."

Where Zuko is banished without Iroh or the task of searching for the Avatar for his honor, gets himself a bounty on his head, and has to be saved from Boiling Rock Prison by an annoying Southern Water Tribe warrior that makes him feel really weird.

Shocked by how foolish his enemy is Zuko takes the opportunity to find out more about the Avatar and accidently becomes one of the GAANG in the process. Why does the Avatar keep looking at him like that and what's the strange voice he keeps hearing? Zuko really should listen to his Uncle more often.

So many gestures could be the tell for a lie. This was a particularly useful skill in the Fire Nation palace: it made her hard to manipulate. Her mind was a locked room to which the key was well protected. Unfortunately, that skill was not useful in protecting others from manipulation. That meant, when Ozai started pitting their children against each other, Ursa noticed, but didn’t know what to do.
