"Hmm," Imogen hummed as a response, still in that dazed feeling of fulfillment.
"I've been thinking a lot about it, actually. And about… you and I." Imogen's breath catched, and she looked up at Laudna expectantly. Laudna shifted her weight from one foot to another, and bit her own lip, like she was looking for words. "I mean, we're… we are more than just best friends, aren't we?"
Or: Imogen and Laudna realize they've been living a queerplatonic relationship this whole time and were too dumb and useless ti address it.

What would have happened if Linda Monroe had survived the events of Black Friday? How would she bring about Wiggly's birth? She is sure of her purpose, but some things spiral out of her control. That's a lesson she learned in motherhood, you can't control your children like you wanted to, but you love them and embrace them anyways. And, as she was chosen to be Wiggly's Mother, she had that role to fullfil.

It was weird how, in less than a month before high school ended, everything she had as a certainty was turned upside down. It really was the end of an era. And change was hard, it was scary. Becky felt like she was on the edge of a cliff, and she knew she had to leap, sooner or later, but she had no idea what waited for her down there. It was frightening and exhilarating at the same time.
