Summary
Bucky Barnes is retired. He did a stint in the Army, did a stint as a Secret Service agent, even dabbled in the private sector, but that’s over. Now, he just wants to rest in the solitude he’s found in a cabin in the Adirondacks, with only his memories to get him through the sleepless nights.
Until his best friend comes to him with a special request. One last job, protecting the movie star sister of an old Army buddy. She’s being stalked, getting death threats, but that’s nothing they haven’t dealt with before.
Except there’s something different about this job. And maybe it’s not the job; maybe it’s the girl. But when it turns out that something sinister is at play, Bucky realizes this job … could be his last.

He hasn’t looked Steve in the eye since Natasha called him in three weeks ago. He’s been trying so fucking hard not to fall into that old, familiar pattern. He wants Steve, of course he does, but he knows better.
He tried, he did.
Bucky opens the door.
Steve doesn’t wait for an invitation, bodily pushing Bucky out of the way and kicking the door shut behind him. Bucky wouldn’t put up with that shit, not normally, but Steve lays his hands on him, hot and huge over bare skin, and then there’s teeth closing in on his throat, and Bucky can’t think.
He’s spun around and slammed against the door, weak wood rattling on its hinges. Steve doesn’t let up, crowding in on Bucky, all mouth and hands. They’re cruel, demanding, and push Bucky’s buttons like they’re reaching past skin and flesh and bone to wrap bloody fingers around the neediest parts of him.

Summary
“You should take a hint,” Bucky says. “Or better yet, take this as an instruction manual—” He gestures broadly at the bodies littering the floor. “—and put a bullet in my fucking brain.”
“Bucky!” It’s grief and a flash of anger, and Bucky’s face tightens, lips a thin, furious line. “Buck, please. I don’t—I can’t imagine what you’re going through. But you don’t have to do it alone. Come with me. Come home.”
There’s a moment, so brief that Steve will never know whether he imagined it, when Bucky looks tempted, when he softens, the stark lines of his face mellowing into something warm and helpless. And then it’s gone and blazing blue eyes bore into Steve.
“To hell,” Bucky enunciates very clearly, voice steady with unnatural calm, “with you and your savior complex. Go find another lost cause, Captain.”
It’s that title, barbed and deliberate and bitingly impersonal, that does it.
The anger that was a quiet spark roars into an inferno.
Softly, with bared teeth, Steve says, “Get fucked, Barnes.”
“Do it yourself, motherfucker.”

After the release of Infinity War, Chris and Sebastian each take some time off to recharge. Chris is staying in Scarlett’s lake cabin on his own and invites Sebastian up to come and spend some time with him. Due to busy work schedules and a number of other, more personal reasons, Chris and Seb haven't been as close lately, something which neither of them are very happy about. This mini-vacation presents a chance for them to revive their friendship and maybe (definitely) explore if there might be something more. Over the course of a week, and with a little help from meddling friends and co-stars, the boys learn to build bridges, to be vulnerable and take chances, and to stop letting fear rule their lives.
