Fortunately, his family is there to support him as he battles whatever bug has taken hold of him, although their behavior seems a bit... peculiar.

Summary
Donnie collided with Leo in a tangle of limbs. There was an instinctive cling in return from his twin, before the realization sunk in.
"No." Leo breathed in his ear, immediately shattered. "No, no, no, no, no!”
Every muscle in Donnie's body was shaking like an earthquake from the amount of effort he'd just expended. The explosion caught up to them, sending the twins spiralling away into space and debris.
For one singular moment, Donnie allowed himself a burst of victory. His heart was still thudding a thousand miles an hour in his chest, having been absolutely terrified he wasn't going to make it in time. But he did. And he held onto Leo, his prize.
Then they hit the ground, the sudden tumble bursting them apart. Donnie felt the world spin, rapid and disorientating, before he slammed into something rock and cracking under his impact.

In the aftermath of the Krang attack, all Donnie could focus on was Leo. With their resident medic down for the count, it was on him to make sure their brother didn’t succumb to his wounds. In the span of a few days, he had nearly lost two of his brothers, and Donatello would really rather not think about that, so taking on the medic role was a welcome excuse to ignore those pesky emotions. He really couldn’t afford for his vision to blur from tears, his hands to shake with nervousness, or his heart to beat an erratic rhythm against his plastron while he was busy stitching skin and resetting bones – so Donatello did the one thing he could think of at the time.
He selected his amygdala and zipped its file shut.

Donnie sits back in his chair, ignoring the twinge in his lower back the way he’s ignored it for the past three hours, and says, “What does the hard way look like?”
“You’re gonna hate it.”
“Color me intrigued.”
Leo shrugs and starts to lift himself up. The infirmary bed is raised at an angle, to help Leo breathe and reduce the risk of pneumonia that has kept Don awake at night, but now he’s pushing himself upright all the way, kicking at his blanket with the foot that isn’t casted.
“Oh my god, stop, I hate it,” Donnie blurts, all but flinging his tablet aside in his rush to put an end to this nightmare. “You win, you monster!”
