I'm not sure how I can write my own fanfic after reading this. I guess I will have to just not write until plot elements become inspirations then. I had so many ideas, but the author blew me out of the water with his/hers. The author truly is a polymath, writing this with meticulous research and writing ability, incorporating convincing enough scientific knowledge that blends in with history. There are many philosophical debates in this series, and those drive the clashing themes of the story.
Originally I doubted the Control ending, but the author managed to fix it and gave me the closure I sought for (or I would have rioted: give me destroy). The author's explanation and development made Control a plausible choice in the end. Delivered in this way, the author successfully managed to change my viewpoint on Control (fixing relays is an important factor, and major obstacle to destroy, even with Happy Ending in mind). To be honest, it is a Control that turned into a destroy. The author expanded much on Asari culture as well, and I don't think I can envision Asari culture in any other way from now on. The author wrote huge amounts of OCs as well, and wrote their motives convincingly. Again, not sure how I can write my OCs without drawing inspiration (heavily maybe) from this fic.
The author sold me on the triangle relationship even, something I did not anticipate, and was written well, exploring the nuances of the feelings of Shep, Vara, and Liara. The author also answered some of my own guiding questions with regards to differences between asari and human lifespan. The only criticisms I really have about this series is how the author wrote Shep and Liara getting together aspect, but their relationship throughout the rest was a hell of a ride.

Summary
Shepard stalked through the grimy streets of Omega towards Afterlife's VIP area. It was after midnight, and she'd waited in the main club for Feron too long; she'd had enough. She was going go drink too much then pull someone else. She was going to forget him completely... or that was her plan, before she unexpectedly came face to face with the drell in question.

This is an updated version of a fic I wrote back in 2019 as part of an iPod Shuffle Challenge; the idea was to have songs come on at random, and to write short scenes only during the duration of the song. I've tried to reordered the pieces to make a more cohesive story, but have not added anything additional to the 'chapters'.

Summary
There are a lot of stories with turian as pets, but what about drells?
The first human spectre, Jane Shepard, played a dangerous game with the Shadow Broker that causes her to be waken up by assassins every single night. The guards she hired were incompetent and incapable of protecting her. Therefore, at her friends' suggestions, she bought a drell, a species known for their raw strength that equals the krogan in hope to thwart the hired killers and catch up on her beauty sleep. Unbeknownst to her, the mysterious drell she picked is extensively trained at torturing every single one of his owner and making it seems like it was not his doing, and considers it a sport.
This story follows through the entirety of ME1-ME3 with deviations, of course.

Summary
Several years have passed since the end of the Reaper War. Shepard is one of the last remaining Spectres. Stumbling into a plot that could have serious consequences to the continued galactic peace that has reigned since she destroyed the Reapers, will she be able to stop it?
She has to also contend with the interference of her late husband's son, Kolyat, who thinks it's time she moves on with her life. He asks for help from his friend Feron, another Drell, to help Shepard over her feelings of tu fira by talking with her. Feron has something else in mind, and with a little help from Liara, he might just have his wish come true.

These pieces jump around, not only in POV, but in time. They play around with dispensing plot in the form of emails, IMs - even dreams. There are some sticky moral decisions and other non-comfy stuff in here (as well as the dreaded Original Characters), so YMMV.
