Arthur shifted slightly closer to him, his leg brushing Merlin’s, and he shivered, smiling softly when his king looked into his eyes.
He smiled back, reaching out to touch Merlin’s bare arms, his hands warm and soft. The warlock leaned into the touch, humming with joy, feeling a warm buzz all over him. He would admit it felt like after he had a few drinks of ale, but it was so much better than that.
Because it was him and Arthur. And they were sleeping in their bed, in their chambers, the first night after they had officially been married.

Summary
Merlin's life in Eadlor is quiet. He keeps his head down, or tries to anyway, and spends his day working the land with his mother and Will. Then a peace treaty between Camelot and Essetir brings Ealdor into Camelot's borders. With it comes not only a flock of Camelot knights, but Prince Arthur himself; a man who was magically altered to give him special abilities to track and kill sorcerers.
Arthur's duties in Ealdor consist of chasing off bandits, providing aid to the people, and making sure Ealdor follows the law of Camelot. Through a twist of fate, Merlin ends up as Arthur's scribe, and as they work together, Arthur comes ever closer to discovering Merlin's secret. Perhaps the worst part is that Merlin can't bring himself to hate Arthur as much as he should hate someone designed to kill him and his kin.
He thinks if things had been different, he and Arthur might have been good friends.

Summary
He wrapped his arms around Merlin’s torso and rested his head on the man’s chest. For a moment, the two of them just stayed like that. Silent and yet still loud with each other. Small kisses found their way to the skin of his body, kisses that held enough words for the weary man to understand. Merlin dropped his head down onto Arthur’s and breathed in the smell of his golden hair, the smell that he knew well from the pillow he rested on.
Merlin and Arthur have a lot on their plates being the Kings of Camelot, so Arthur plans a nice picnic for them. With a beautiful lake to swim in, and a blanket so soft every critter wanted to rest on it, they had what they needed for a calm and peaceful night.

“Kill me. I don’t want to feel anything anymore. Burn my corpse in the courtyard - serve it for dinner, for all I care.” He laughs, swaying towards Arthur’s chest a little. Arthur doesn’t move. His throat feels scratchy. What’s he supposed to do or say?
“I know you want me to die.” Merlin states. Arthur’s brows pinch and he shakes his head with a wince.
He wanted to retire to his chambers forever. He wanted to throw up his guts.
“You’d enjoy it, right - killing me?” Merlin asked as if he was already certain of the answer. Pale and frail fingers twisted the sword so the sharp edge scraped against the King’s armor. Arthur gulped but made no intention to move.
Merlin slid his fingers up the side of the blade, leaning in closer until his lips were centimeters from Arthur’s ear. “You don’t have to hide how you truly feel. I accept all of you - even the part that wishes people like me dead.”

Summary
Arthur is angry when he learns that he is born of magic and that his Father sacrificed his Mother so he could have an heir. In this version of events, Merlin doesn't tell Arthur that Morgause lied to him.
