AO3 will bend to my will. *insert evil cackle with a cough here*
As I conduct this experiment, I have come to the current conclusion that the collective belief is what powered AO3 in the beginning. Though it has slowly become near supernatural, almost like a deity; only existing as much as a collective worships it.
However, I have two working questions;
If ao3 is only a collective energy, Would it need a collective effort to make even one desire come true?
If AO3 is its own entity, does the sacrifice count as the work itself and the time taken to write it?My current hypothesis is that AO3 after many years of collective energy (with no output and constant input) has being built into what is now known as the ao3 “curse”.
The energy itself has to have an equilibrium to stay stable. So, the constant attention of the collective energy under a single work has to be expelled into a source (e.g. an author receiving the effects of the “curse”).
As I am still early in this experiment, I myself am still answering and experiencing these questions. Which can change at any time.

Summary
After a long search for a decent-paying job, Yuuji finally finds what he had tremendously ached for. Unluckily, the employment facility happens to be quite dangerous. He has to supervise hostile entities through security cameras and call for backup if one ever escapes its designated room.
Yuuji is delighted to be working with Megumi, as he hasn't seen Megumi since high school, where their departure was filled with messy tears and broken goodbyes. That's the only part of Yuuji's childhood he desperately wants to relive. The rest is complicated, and he'd like to forget it.
In a secret foundation filled to the brim with anomalous anomalies, what could go wrong? While sharing a room, things can get rather tense after being at work all day, causing fatigue and extreme weariness. All that work just to come back to the same annoying guy who won't stop talking. It's an everyday occurence for Megumi.
Megumi has to learn to deal with Yuuji's constant loquaciousness, how unfortunate. Those long, asthenia-inducing days soon turn slightly more enjoyable as the two realize the sexually explicit benefits of having an attractive roommate.

Not a surprising sight in the slightest, although the weird glowy tech the scientist carries with him does make the vigilante wary. He’s already having a busy morning and now he’s gotta deal with this?! Come on!
Here comes yet another fuck you from the universe when the questionably-crafted work breaks with a fizzling, popping sound once the spider manages to wrangle it from Doc. Whatever it is immediately activates in his spandex covered hands, makes his body go all fuzzy and tingly inside, and then promptly explodes.
Is he dead? He doesn’t feel dead. God, if you can hear him, it’s Peter, and he’s demanding to know what the fuck is going on with his life.
Spidey in Gotham. Booyah. Except mutants in this world are apparently called “meta humans” or some shit and his body takes spider DNA to a whole new level.

The real-life Terra Nova Expedition, organised by the British Royal Navy, took place between 1910 and 1913 under the leadership of Captain Scott. His main goal was to win the race to the South Pole, but scientific research was a priority as well. Six of his men, collectively known as the Northern Party, spent most of 1911 on a remote beach that would turn out to be the world’s largest Adélie penguin rookery.
In this story, Anthony J. Crowley (surgeon, zoologist, photographer) takes the place of Northern Party member George Murray Levick. I tried to stick as much as possible to the actual scientific facts and timeline of events, but some creative license did have to be taken.
For example, there was no real-life monsterfucking at any point during the Terra Nova Expedition… as far as we know.

Background: A cohort of university science students (N=13) experienced acute-onset superhuman abilities following ingestion of unidentified food provided by a faculty member (n=12 exposed; n=1 unexposed(?) control).
Methods: Participants attempted to continue normal academic functioning despite emerging powers, unclear allegiances, and escalating interpersonal tension. Observational data were limited by rampant denial and inconsistent self-reporting.
Results: Statistically significant increases were observed in reality distortion (p<0.001), emotional pining (p<0.01), and poor decision-making (p<0.0001). The control subject displayed unexpected anomalies inconsistent with baseline human parameters.
Conclusion: Free food is contraindicated in experimental settings. Further research is needed to determine the biochemical basis of the abilities and why all subjects immediately choose violence, secrecy, or both.
