    Hehe, I watched the Rise movie and decided to write some Leo trauma. It's not as much trauma as I would have liked, and definitely not as much as I've read in some other fics, but I enjoy writing these stories so eh.

    Leo's shell is cracked! How is he going to deal with that along with all of the past trauma he has? He won't be alone in his journey to heal, that's for sure. His family is there to help, along with a few more things :]

    (This storyline has slowly diverged from the original concept I had in mind, but I'm not complaining, and I hope you won't either)

    Series was originally named "Cracks in the Facade" but I changed it because I can and I hated the name.

Through the large, floor to ceiling window, the rising sun shined right in his eyes. Unfortunately, the ringing in his ears made it hard to distinguish sounds, but he knew the honeyed, singsong voice that was emanating from the lavender blob in front of him.

    The prison dimension was cold and dark. Debris everywhere. There were always things to be wary of, from broken ships to crumbling buildings. The Kraang could be hiding in anything. Despite the contrast in the bleak gray, the bright red lights of the creature's armor were hard to spot. Leo never had a chance to relax.
    He wasn't sure what to really expect; he knew this would happen. He honestly wanted it to. Better him than his brothers, right?
    He tried to suppress his memories of them. It made it that much harder to live- well, survive- in this desolate hell. He wondered if they moved on frequently. Had they made him a grave? Had they cleaned out his room?
    His thoughts always circled back to them, no matter how hard he tried. It hurt to think about them.

    Raphael had always been the one his brothers turned to when they were scared. He was the big, older, scarier turtle that would scare away whatever haunted their dreams. Many of nights, Raph would suddenly awaken to find a new weight in his bed that wasn’t there when he went to sleep. Sometimes, he would find there was more than one brother huddled into him, and it never made Raph more proud that they knew they could come to him.

    Then suddenly, Leonardo stopped visiting Raph’s room. It was abrupt and the red turtle wasn’t sure what to think about it. A part of him wanted to believe that Leo finally found a way to help himself sleep, but judging by the way he sometimes nursed a warm drink in the kitchen at the dead of night when Raph got up to use the little turtle’s room… he somehow doubted it. It pained Raph to think that he did something to drive away his little bro, but he couldn’t work up the courage to ask. Maybe Leo thought he outgrew coming to his big bro about his sleepless nights or nightmares? Raphael wasn’t sure, but he was sure that he hated it.

    Leo hugged the plush close to his chest, his chin propped on the head.

    The fluffiness of the mane hitting his chin felt nice, and the soft texture of the light pink fabric rubbed against his skin nicely.

    He buried his face into the back of the head, letting out a singular chirp, drawing a chuckle from his purple-clad sibling.

    There was then the flash of a camera in his peripheral, and he shot his head up to see Donnie hiding their phone behind their back, a poker expression on their face.

    Leo glared at them with golden orbs as they retreated from the room, but did nothing to stop them.

    A Crack in the Shell by

    Leo removed his belt and the strap that held his swords, and after some maneuvering, he was finally able to see his shell clearly enough.

    A thin crack about the length of his foot ran across the upper middle part of his shell, smaller cracks dotting the length, making it seem sort of like those weird-looking ladders on those metal telephone poles.

    Bad scrapes also dotted the surface, making one question bubble to the front of his slowly static filling mind.

    How did no one notice this?

    Or, I wrote this fic because there is no way Leo's shell isn't cracked by the end in some way. He was pummeled so much he had to at least have some shell damage.

    Or x2, Kind of 3 times Leo hid the crack in his shell from his family, and 1 time they found out.
