“Oh, Ursa.” A hand, decorated with fine bands of silver and entwined gold, caressed her cheek. It was warm. “Your Aunt Walburga and I are having tea. I cannot attend you at all times.”
“I don’t understand why you just won’t let the house-elves take care of her, Druella.” Said Walburga, not unkindly.
Her heart seemed to catch in her throat as she stilled. Anna reversed the conversation in her head silently, mulling over the frequent use of certain names as a sick sense of dread welled up over her. Oh no, she thought with the desperation of a dying (dead?) man.
The woman rolled her eyes out of sight of Walburga, turning back to the woman with an exasperated stare. “My grandmother hand-raised my mother, and my mother hand-raised me. It’s a tradition.”
“Your grandmother was a half-blood,” Walburga said airily, but there was a sneer in her voice that would have rattled steel.
Oh, fuck, Anna stared up in desolation.
Or, alternatively, death isn't final and souls are reduced, reused and recycled.

Summary
Celebrimbor is not healed, may never be truly healed, from what Sauron did to him. But he returned from the Halls of Mandos, returned to Middle-earth, anyway: it is the only way that he can attempt to make amends for the devastating mistake of trusting Annatar and the ruin that his misplaced trust unleashed upon the world.
With the great smith who helped forge the Rings of Power on their side, the Council of Elrond has an option they did not have before. Now Celebrimbor and Frodo Baggins must journey together into darkness, along with a handful of trusty companions, in hopes of unmaking the One Ring before all of Middle-earth is swamped in a war that only Sauron can win.
But wounds of the spirit linger even more than do wounds of the flesh, and Celebrimbor's path through the shadows that Sauron wrought upon the world will be hard. And all the Fellowship will have to face great peril before they will have even the faintest chance of realising this desperate, foolish hope.

Summary
In the wake of the Dark Lord's resurrection, fractured shards of the Black family - once scattered - are pieced together as the embers of resistance flicker to life once again. Unlikely partnerships are forged, and trust must be earned in a race against time to protect the next generation from the mistakes of the past and guarantee a future for the wizarding world.
A "Regulus Lives" AU in which Regulus survives the horcrux cave in 1979, but instead of remaining in England, sets off to France to destroy the locket and learn how to exist outside the context of the Family - and when Voldemort returns, so does Regulus. This trilogy begins at the very end of "Goblet of Fire," progressing through the Second War primarily from the perspectives of Regulus and Sirius Black, with additional POVs occasionally included for broadened perspective. Against the backdrop of a budding war and a horcrux hunt, the brothers begin the healing process for their broken family.
Backstory, as well as side stories, are organized in approximate chronological order in the companion series, "renascentia: between the lines."
