Mike has POTS. Mike's POTS has never affected his ability to work before so naturally he doesn't tell anyone about it when he starts working at Pearson Hardman. And why would he? He has it well under control and it's not like working at a law firm is particularly strenuous anyways. Right? Harvey has a lot to say about this mindset.

“Okay.” Mike put his glass down and turned in his chair, facing Harvey dead on. He grabbed Harvey’s hand where it was resting on the table and held it between both of his.
Harvey’s eyes widened. “Mike. I’m starting to freak out already. Just tell me.”

Things had been rough this last year though, first his leg got crushed, he had a pulmonary embolism, he was told he couldn’t come back to work, and then there was a tsunami. Even with now being allowed back at work after making the mistake of filing a lawsuit, things were still a bit strained. His family and home still felt like they were an arm’s length out of reach. Then, things get even worse somehow when he and the rest of the team get sent to see Dr. Wells after a particularly rough call.
