    When Bucky was 19, he landed on the back of a blond who wasn’t Steve, and decided that yeah, he’d found the man he was hoping to marry. Almost 10 years later, Steve is gone, Bucky’s lost sight of where he wants his life to go, and he works in an archery themed coffee shop dealing with grumpy PTA moms he sort of hates. When a new neighbor moves in, Bucky doesn’t think anything of it, until the music starts; shitty, bass heavy pop blaring too loud too early in the morning. Of course the man of his dreams is also the world’s worst neighbor and of course all of his friends are meddling assholes.

    Kate Bishop thinks Clint Barton and Bucky Barnes are disgusting. They so clearly want to rip each other’s clothes off, but they mask it with witty remarks and bedroom eyes. She’s sick of watching them hit on each other, so she decides to play cupid. Her first job as Kate Bishop, matchmaker for the Avengers and Company, is to get the two of them to talk about their feelings. When someone sends an evil android version of Bucky after Clint, and it tries to seduce him, Kate finds the perfect opportunity to get them together. After they bicker like a married couple at a late-night diner, share their binoculars on a stake out, and break into the HR department of Avengers tower, Kate can only hope that all the dating advice she employed from terrible magazines will get them to realize they should just kiss already. Bucky doesn’t appreciate her overt attempts to shove him and Clint together - but realizes, after a near death experience, that she may have a point.

    As part of a year-long mission intended to take Clint off the grid for a while, he ends up in an old watchtower on the edge of a huge gorge in the middle of nowhere, all by himself.

    There's a second tower, though, 700 feet away on the other side of the gorge. Occupied. By no other than James "Bucky" Barnes, who's currently at the top of Nat's and Steve's most wanted list. Clint's not supposed to interact with his counterpart, but... well, he's determined to make a friend.

    Cue: handwritten messages, chess games, the ever-thin line between flirting and stalking, late-night talks, awful haircuts, and a zip line.
