Summary
The royal family of Antarctic empire isn’t exactly close.
Emperor Philza is always occupied; Tommy hasn’t seen Techno in months, and even if Wilbur is here, their relationship can be described to be strained at best.
The royal family doesn’t need to be close, however, it only needs to be balanced, like the pillars holding the country above their heads – as long as they are strong and steady, the Empire will be too. It’s the principle that held Tommy’s back straight and his shoulders broad through the years of hardships and trials of errors; through yet another formal meeting where his father’s gaze would look past him and where his brother’s words would be filled with poison that makes the deepest parts of his soul ache.
At that time, Tommy couldn't know that his family would find a replacement for him in the face of a commoner boy named Ranboo.

Summary
But the Force was quiet and absent of warnings. Even Vader's presence in it was not quite so painful. The echoes that clung to him in swarms were… gentler, somehow. Subdued, like a light draped with a dark cloth. For all of Vader's past cruelties, and the fear that was trained and carved and beaten into Cal over the course of several months, this moment felt almost merciful.
“It is time to go, Inquisitor.”
Cal stood up.
He marched past Vader, and then back into the Fortress to join his brothers and sisters, leaving something behind up there on the spire. Cal the Jedi padawan finally died watching the storm brew at sea, and in the bowels of Nur, an Inquisitor is born.

If the Inquisitorius are Vader's dogs, then that makes Cal his bloodhound.

How some clones surviving the explosion on Albedo Brave lead to Cal Kestis becoming the most efficient Jedi hunter in the Inquisitorius.

“I killed them,” he said, as the room shuddered. “The men and the women who partook in her suffering, and those who had a chance to stop it but didn't. And then, when there was no else left, I killed the children, too.”

“How old are you?” Technoblade asked.
“Fifteen,” the boy said, jutting out his sharp little chin as if to compensate for the whole head of height he lacked next to the second shortest boy in the row. Technoblade felt a headache prickling at his temples.
“I will ask that again. Think of your answer carefully this time. How old are you?”
The boy looked up. He had eyes the color of sky before dawnbreak, and fire in them that burned more fiercely than a star newly born.
“I'm fifteen, sir,” he repeated without a shade of doubt. “Old enough for war.”

When Commander Technoblade is given a soldier to train who is clearly much too young, he makes everything in his power to make him leave. Unfortunately for him, Tommy is stubborn. Phil has an amusing time watching Technoblade trying not to get attached to the kid (and failing miserably). Somehow it turns into a story of learning to live and letting go.

The egg shudders. The oddest fry that Philza has seen in his life bursts through. Easily ten times bigger than any that hatched in his pod, it doesn't have any scales, and is missing an entire set of fins. Those that it does have are sharp and hard, nothing like Philza's own.
But none of that matters the moment that he looks in the hatchling’s eyes. For the first time in forever there is something else in his heart but a gaping hole. It's like he wakes up from an unending nightmare and sees in aching clarity what he has known since he found the egg abandoned to the ocean’s mercy, much like he was.
This is his fry. His son.

The Inquisitor doesn’t seem to find it as funny as Cal does. “And why is that so unbelievable, young one? Your hate is impressive. Your fear already rules you. You are one of us already, even if you don’t accept it yet.”
“Black isn’t really my colour.”
(Or: The Second Sister captures Cal on Bracca, and Cal Kestis cements his place in the history books as the worst Inquisitor to ever do it. He keeps helping the rebels, and befriending droids. It’s embarrassing, really.)

tommy wants to hit himself. not that dumb!
in which tommy is wholeheartedly evil, but he’s young and has been caught by his enemy - the sbi. dream told him to ‘lay low’ if he ever got caught. so tommy does the only thing he can think of: victimise himself. accidentally, at first, but he’s a smart cookie.
and dials it up to 11.
OR the cliche ‘dream kidnaps tommy and uses him’ shtick but dream’s not that mean, tommy is also a devious evil gremlin, and the whole ‘dream abused me’ thing is a ruse so he doesn’t get his ass beat.
