For a fraction of a second, the light catches his face fully. His eyes flick up. Surprise cracks across his expression.
Too late.
Connor fires.
A bright line tears forward, searing the dark, and slams into Elder Price’s chest.

He remembers taking both of his hands into his, twin laughter and not quite understanding what being married meant. He remembers Etho pulling down his mask to smile, a gift just for him to see.
He doesn't remember his smile anymore.

He felt a definite tug, confirming that the folder in question was, in fact, in his briefcase, but before they could be summoned to him, something else tugged back. Hard.
Adaine was looking at him expectantly.
“Just having some trouble with my briefcase. Not entirely sure what it could be,” Riz lied. He had a very strong suspicion as to what, or who, might be causing this, but he didn’t particularly feel like bringing up Baron and reigniting that conversation. “I’ll have to go in and take a look. Be back in a second.”***
There is an evil goblin mannequin living in The Ball's briefcase, and Riz can only ignore them for so long.
