He had fucked up. There was no other way to put it. He had fucked up.
He brought a fifteen year old kid into a war he had no business being involved in for his own personal gain. He had dumped that same kid off with only Happy for supervision. Happy was a good head of security, a good babysitter he was not. He had given the kid a supersuit that protected him and allowed him to -somewhat- safely do his superhero thing but hadn’t monitored him until the situation became dire. Then things had gotten out of hand and the kid had taken off to be the hero in only a pair of ill-fitted pyjamas that had no safety features what so ever because he had decided it was a smart move to take away the only thing keeping the kid safe.

Summary
Life for Tony Stark has changed a lot in the past four months: the rogue Avengers were pardoned and have moved back into the tower with him; Thor returned to earth with his infamous brother, Bruce Banner, and all of Asgard after their planet was destroyed; and summer vacation recently started—which means Tony worries almost constantly about his little spider protégé who can never seem to stay out of trouble.
Life has also changed a lot for James “Bucky” Barnes since he was thawed out for what he hopes to be the last time in his life. Princess Shuri of Wakanda finally managed to erase all of the verbal triggers Hydra used to control his brain, and she also gifted him a new arm made of Vibranium. Bucky is now trying to catch up on everything he missed during the past 70 years.
As Bucky returns to America, he finds himself moving into the home of the one person who terrifies him the most—Tony Stark. Little does he know, Tony is just as frightened of living with the man formerly known as the Winter Soldier. After the snap, Tony survives because he does. He recovers slowly, it's mere weeks after that, however, and the Starks are in New York for business and helping set everything back up. Then Peter's Aunt dies and Tony and Pepper end up with a second child who is grieving and insecure. Things only get weirder from there. Much weirder. Tony eyed Peter for a moment. He looked nervous, tense. Scared. His knee was bouncing rapidly and Tony caught sight of the kid’s fingers plucking at the edge of his hoodie beneath his folded arms. The mannerisms were familiar, so strangely familiar, though Tony couldn’t quite place why. He pondered it for a half a breath before stepping forward.
“So.” Tony stopped in front of Peter. “You're the Spider...ling. Crime-fighting Spider. You're Spider-Boy?”
“I’m S…” Peter looked away, exasperated. “Spider-Man.”
Confirmation. It wasn’t until Tony was back in his car with Happy that he even paused to ponder the familiarity of the kid in the apartment, the lingering thoughts in the back of his mind, the tiny voice wondering why it felt like he had met Peter before. There was something oddly recognizable about him. Speaking with Peter - watching him, listening to him - was gnawing at the back of his mind. It was like there was something he was forgetting, something that was so memorable and yet just out of reach.xXx
"Boss, I have the results from Mr. Parker's blood work. I've found a match in the system."
