Summary
As the Warrior of Light closes her eyes, waiting to be released from the Rift by Hydaelyn, a shining star alights on the horizon behind her. In the blink of an eye the star shoots across the infinite space, blinding in its radiance. It is no longer a distant star, but a blazing sun, fiery and burning hot with a soul that will not be denied. A sound can be heard, almost like a gasp, uttered by a divine voice, but then the star-like sun slams into the Warrior of Light, pulled by something beyond the power of even gods. Within the length of a heartbeat, everything ignites into the flaming radiance of a midday sun.
AU - What if...during the Warrior of Light's first meeting with Hydaelyn in the Astral Sea the remainder of Azem's essence is reunited with the main soul? Eorzea is not prepared to face Azem herself who cheerfully stomps over every meticulously laid plan. All the while dealing with homesickness, meddling mentors and familiar foes.

Summary

“A big bravo to you, friend.”
The sound of clapping cuts through the night and you turn quickly. Even in the starlight and glow of the castle, it’s hard to make out shapes amongst the fields. Your eyes follow the sound until a pair of bright purple eyes beam back at you coming from the water's edge, a figure walking steadily toward you clad in black robes.
“I thought the first one might have been just a bit of luck but there's no doubt about it. It really is you, whole and here in the First.” The stranger smiles, pretty face framed by strands of mauve hair tied back into a loose braid. “A perfect and fitting hero for such a tale.”

(This is a companion fic to A Useful Warrior, born out of the fact that I thought Emet's threat in chapter four was too sexy to not write out, and that I wanted some heavier piss kink but didn't want to put off anyone who wasn't into that from the fic at large.
