    “Because you would be fourteen,” Luke says. “No one wins the Hunger Games at fourteen.”

    “Coral?” Finnick mimics. He can be as cruel as he wants. “Do you really think she’ll take your side here?” Finnick taps Midas’s right wrist, where it ends in a blunt, bandaged line. “Did I do this back at the cornucopia?” Midas does not respond, but Finnick can see from the burning resentment in his eyes that it was him. “You know, I’m quite proud of that. Maybe I’ll get a picture with your corpse after I’m crowned victor.”

    AKA: Ashley wanted more Capitol worldbuilding, so goddammit, Ashley's going to provide that.

    Burn Butcher Burn and the story of Catalina Cain originally appeared in two different forms: The Rest Of Us Just Are, a short story-type fic from a defunct zine and The Necromancer's Ballad, which appeared on various Discords throughout the year. Sorry if you liked this, because it's changed a good bit! But at least it's longer now? And yes, that is a Witcher reference. And yes, I am mad that they replaced Henry Cavill.
