    “We’re worried about you,” Astra said and that didn’t help. “This has been going on too long.”

    “We’re a team,” Sara added, “and if we’re going to continue being a team, we need to know what’s going on with you.”

    Need. What a small word. But it was enough to make the anger in his belly rear its ugly head. What did she know of his needs? Before he knew what he was going, he was on his feet and shouting.

    “What do you know about needs? That bloody spell eradicated all my magic. All of it. Even the spells that make– made—”

    He choked.

    “I’ve been avoiding you blokes because I didn’t want any of you looking at me and seeing a woman before I figured out the spell to get my body back.”

    When Constantine loses his magic, he also loses all the spells he cast on himself. Now, he must face the Legends in a body that doesn’t feel like his own.

    The library looked as though it had been bombed, books and other equipment strewn across every surface. It wasn't until a particularly large tomb nearly smacked her in the face that she realised that a good deal of the items in the room were flying around as if caught in a tornado. There was an odd crackling and static to the air as she stepped inside, closing the door behind her.

    There was no sign of John in the room, if you ignored the magical mayhem. The fact that anyone could recognise this as a magical event caused by distress, warlock or not, was extremely concerning. “John?” she called out and, for a moment, the chaos seemed to falter before continuing.

    There was no response.

But then guilt—or perhaps sheer bad luck—always dragged him back.

    Now he’s neck-deep in magical debts, interdimensional grudges, and a timeline so tangled it could strangle a lesser man. The gods might call him a savior, but John knows the truth: he’s just tired. Tired of time travel. Tired of magic. And most of all, tired of being the universe’s go-to handyman.

    Someone, please, save him this time. Before he snaps and uses all those favors to take a permanent vacation in a timeline where none of this exists. If such a place even exists anymore.
