Summary
Sunny and Basil told the truth.
Their friends took a little, but they eventually forgave both of them, letting Sunny and Basil's years of self-torment be their punishment. The group stayed true to their promise, keeping in touch even after Sunny's move; it wasn't uncommon for a very annoyed Hero to have to shut down a 2AM chatroom about Captain Spaceboy, or Sweetheart, or whatever had caught the younger teens' eyes that day.
It's been a year since that day in the hospital, and Sunny has mostly settled into his new life, finally going back to high school in the city, and visiting Faraway whenever Hero was back from college. His (admittedly nice) mundane existence is interrupted by the sudden return of a certain someone, and he couldn't be happier about it. He *had* forgotten one thing though.
Mari was So. Damn. Annoying.
He wouldn't have it any other way.

Basically, in which the fight between Mari and Sunny before the recital never happened, it’s a fantasy world, and Sunny meets a faun named Basil, much later than he does in canon. Fic title from the song Oats We Sow by Gregory and the Hawk.

Summary
"I hate you," Sunny whispers into his skin, holding onto him like he's afraid he'll disappear if he lets go. "I hate you so much."
Basil's tears cascade down the side of his face as his chest heaves from the effort of trying to inhale enough oxygen into his lungs, but he smiles anyway, a weak, fragile thing, tinged with sorrow.
"I know, Sunny," Basil whispers back, just as quietly, but more tenderly. He wants to cradle the other's face in his hands and hold him, tell him that everything is going to be okay. He doesn't. "So that's why I should be p-punished, shouldn't I?"

Or: In place of Kel, Basil is the one who knocks on Sunny's door everyday, who rather than secluding himself away for years, decides to take his grief and frustration out on Basil instead; and Basil, desperate not to be left alone again, endures it all with a smile.

One moment Basil and Aubrey, both elves, were going about with their everyday lives as a prince and guard of a prestigious palace, and the next their lives have been turned upside down from them being taken to a laboratory to be studied on. It doesn't help that Basil's been constantly fighting an internal battle with himself due to a "powerful gift" he was given at birth either.
Along the way, a winged boy, Sunny, is met with, who doesn't remember a thing about the outside world besides the laboratory he's been living all of his life in. Will these three be able to keep moving forward despite all their numerous problems??
In other words: a mostly Basil-centric au that gets into some Sunflower content later on in its story. There's a LOT more going on with this au, but there's only so much I can put in this tiny little textbox, so read if you'd like to know more :DD

Technically an AU; no personality or role swaps/major differences.
Dead dove for the stalking/self harm/suicidal ideation behavior. Basil pov=He’s going to justify himself, for the most part.
ADDITIONS 2025: There is NO sexual content in this fic AKA I am not trying to sexualize anyone. The age regression is involuntary and supposed to scary, not cute or comforting or sexual or whatever else

The events of the day of the recital happen... in reverse. Mari kills herself, and it's covered up to make it look like Sunny accidentally pushed her down the stairs. Unable to accept his sister's imperfections, rather than becoming an extreme introvert, Sunny becomes an extreme extrovert: a narcissistic, constantly-smiling beacon of optimism who idolizes Mari like a goddess. Only time will tell how long Sunny will live in denial. When the truth is uncovered, an image of perfection will be shattered.

Summary
On the last day before Sunny leaves Faraway, he stabs himself. Soon afterwards, he finds that he's back a few days prior and that all his progress in Headspace has followed suit with the exceptions being his skills, items and weapons.
When Kel knocks on his door in the Real World, Sunny is once again left with an ultimatum. Refuse to answer the door and do the exact same thing he did the first time this happened or step outside for the first time in years. This time, he decides to experience something different.
While Omori goes through Headspace once again, fighting foes he's already fought, who have all gained much greater power than before, while Sunny tries to reconnect with old friends before he leaves, haunted by repressed memories, secrets and emotions. Two vastly different journeys with a single commonality. Wherever one goes, a White Tulip follows.

Aubrey was crying in both anger and worry and a mix of other emotions. "S-SORRY? OH OKAY, YOU'RE SORRY! THEN EVERYTHING IS FINE!" Everything was not fine. Not fine at all. What the hell else was in that 'natural painkiller' Basil had given himself and Sunny? How the hell were they so calm about this?-
