But when two people are suffering together, it only makes sense for them to start caring about each other. Even if one of them is ready to die, the other won't accept that ending. Izuru will have to have enough survival instinct for both of them; he'll help Hajime, even if he might not want to be saved.

Sanji, at all of eight years old, nodded solemnly at his mother's request, even offering a pinky promise. She was right, of course. Sanji was the strongest of the quadruplets. Ichiji, Niji and Yonji were weak.
As a child he viewed it as a chore, watching over the other three. Though as the years passed and they all grew more and more, he looked at it as an honor. He was their protector. Their white knight. But he wasn't completely sure of that specific if he could be pedantic. A knight rescued princesses. Sanji wanted to keep his, hoard them since they were, in fact, his already. Always. Cherished. Beloved. Beautiful.
And he would devour, burn alive, dismember any who were a threat to his treasures. As a dragon should.

The antidote doesn't work for Sanji while it does for Ichiji, Niji and Yonji. But despite his lack of emotions, Sanji vows to never hurt a hair on his brothers' heads. And chop off the heads of those who dare to touch the only good things in his life.
