Yet unfortunately, her elder sister still urges her to curb her… desires in a different manner.For weeks, she ponders this development. She maintains her exemplary profile and continues life as a ‘normal’ woman of science. She feels the itch grow beneath her skin like maggots eating her flesh. She observes as the need grows from a spark to a roaring flame. She hears the monster under her skin tempting her… coxing her…
Until the solution to all her problems arrive on the doorstep of her clinic in the form of a patient.

Summary
The Renegades AU focuses on a divergent timeline in which Steven Universe is unable to escape the clutches of the Diamonds and Homeworld during the "I Am My Mom" arc. True to Blue Diamond's word, she provides a punishment worse than what Steven initially imagined - rather than shatter his gem, she forces him into the life of a Homeworld soldier; after all, the best punishment "would be to force her back into the life she despised so much that she shattered her own Diamond, right?"
While on Homeworld, Steven meets his punishment head on with determination. He manages to find friends among the gems who hate him, and adapts to the harsh life of a Homeworld soldier. And just beneath the surface, a war rages against Homeworld - one that threatens both Steven, as well as the Diamonds.
