there's an abandon car that sits in a quiet parking lot.
seokjin isn't the first to learn the news. it's jimin, and then taehyung, and then seokjin and the rest. nights spent wandering the streets until they stumble across the rotting scent of death, the half-naked boy curled in the dip of the seats.
it takes a few more loops until seokjin can pinpoint the exact date, because sometimes namjoon makes it out. sometimes he wins. other times, he doesn't, and seokjin lands right back where he started.

namjoon counts the bills. finishes, stacks them up in a neat pile, and starts again. taehyung is standing near the door, rummaging through his backpack. the younger can't afford to buy a bag in the first place, so namjoon assumes that it's just another thing he stole. he wonders if everything else in the backpack is stolen goods, too.
he looks back at his hands, carefully holding the money, and finds that they're shaking.

The first time it happens, he's whipping up some eggs in his kitchen at 2:00am, wondering what would happen if he turns up the heat until the orange flames morph into a brilliant blue. Seconds later there's an itch in his throat, scratching at the base of his neck, that he chooses to ignore. The itch is a constant thing after that, but he doesn't have time to get it checked out with his busy schedule.
The second time it happens, he's sitting in a dusty warehouse, watching an argument between Spinner and Shigaraki. He's perching on a crate beside Dabi, and when he glances over, there's an exasperated sigh leaving Dabi, accompanied by a twist of the mouth that almost looks affectionate as he watches the fight escalate. The itch returns, more prominent than before, and Hawks actually scratches the dip in his throat to see if he can make it go away.

Mipha tries not to scream when Daruk scoops her up and spins her around, but his laughter is contagious, and soon enough she's laughing along with him. When he sets her down, she turns to Link, looking for his reaction to seeing the Goron for the first time in a while, but the hylian is getting on his horse, already preparing to head to the next Divine Beast.
Sometimes, she forgets he can't see her, and she craves to shake him, to speak with him some other way besides when she heals him, if only to tell him how proud she is.

Toga pauses, and, despite her childlike demeanor, Dabi can see the gears turning in her head.
“Bad night?” she guesses. There's no pity in her voice, just her usual curiosity and maybe a little bit of sympathy, but perhaps Dabi isn't digging deep enough at the moment to find any other emotion. Because for a second, the room is splattered with red, covering the walls, the floor, the ceiling, everywhere. Toga is covered in red, red red, so much red. He knows she's dead.
But then he blinks, and Toga is staring back at him, perfectly fine. Dabi chuckles, and gathers himself up to answer.
“You could say that.”
When the League of Villains wake up, everything is remarkably similar to yesterday.
