Summary
Shen Yuan has lived in the shitty omegaverse xianxia world of Proud Immortal Demon Way for years. Peacefully enjoying Qing Jing peak with his Peak Lord brother and whiling away the days. His cultivation is poor, his second gender never presented and he's managed to dodge most of the responsibility coming his way.
With the notable exception of a little black puppy. He’s happy to be responsible for him.
When the disciple intake that should contain Luo Binghe passes without the protagonist showing up, it throws a spanner into his plans. He’d sworn he’d hug the protagonist's golden thighs and protect his brother and Cang Qiong Mountain Sect from Demon Emperor Luo Binghe’s eventual wrath.
That’s going to be tough without him. But his little dog grows into a stalwart companion, arriving in his dreams to tell him he’s trapped in this canine body. That’s fine! They have all the time in the world for him to cultivate to human form.
He doesn’t know why the system is still counting down to Luo Binghe being thrown into the abyss, since he hasn’t even made an appearance…

He let himself out of the solo studio and caught Hualing’s eye over by the counter. “I’ll bring your money in the morning, bitch.”

On one hand, he didn't have to live through the suffering of being tortured by the scum villain and suffer his indignities after his elderly mother's death - on the other hand, the damn System still wants to send him to the Endless Abyss even if Luo Binghe isn't Shen Qingqiu's disciple!! Ah, but Shen Qingqiu will get the necessary points and prevent that sweet lotus from having to be thrown into the Abyss!! Even if he has to... uh... visit the brothel a lot more for all those... Cursed and trapped in another world, Luo Binghe is forced to work with his crybaby doppelganger and the strange, nice shizun to find a cure. He feels entirely normal about this. Certainly spending time with a version of himself that's happily lesbian married won't awaken anything in him.

A short, comforting post canon fic. I liked the characterization of binghe
The prose was smart and sound. Creative and fun, well grounded. The acting, the dynamic between characters feels somehow very human and like it flows naturally? It has charm t it
“ Ning Yingying nodded, shook her head, then nodded, shaking like a toy drum. Shen Qingqiu shut his fan and tapped it against her shoulder to make her stop shaking, still finding it amusing.”
I find that some sv fics characterize binghe as someone who’s overly lovesick, flirty and cheerful. I like that this fic portrayed a more withdrawn, contemplative lbh while keeping the bingqiu dynamic where they read each other well and still carry the dignity of immortals. Plus the writing style is more reminiscent of xianxia novels somehow
