Grabbing Ren had been instinct. Feelings that he had buried deep down long ago were being dug out against his will, clawing their way back into his chest. Ren’s arms were warm around him, wrapped around his waist like a vice.

Martyn crashed the boat against the river's edge and scrambled out, getting as far away from Ren’s arms as possible. He made a conscious effort not to appear strange in his movement, knowing that Ren was too observant for his own good. After all, Ren didn’t know. Ren didn’t- couldn’t remember the past games, much less know about the ones he missed.

Who would've thought that the second he stepped near the Mother Tree, he would be crowned ruler? Who would've thought the gorgeous palace he saw on his way through the kingdom's center would become his gilded cage? He was the pretty face, an honorary title bestowed by a stupid tree just so the council could rule in his stead.
“Her royal highness, Princess Jamie,” the elven council leader said when he introduced Jimmy to the Mezalean kingdom for the first time, “the first Princess of Mezalea!”

Summary
Fluffy snow covered everything the eye could see, a light breeze moved the tree branches, barely any snow falling. A couple of cabins lay in the midst of a clearing, warm lights lighting up the snow and melting the ice on the windowsills. A few crows slept in their nests hidden under the porch, and a horse grazed on a small patch of grass that was protected by the above roof. Inside one of the houses you could see a piglin moving about the kitchen, seemingly mixing something.

If he was being honest, however, Scott was a little distracted from the shovel talk Tango was giving him. Having Tango’s face this close to his, so close Scott could memorise every beautiful detail, basking in Tango’s protectiveness over those he loves… It was kinda hot, if Scott was being honest. He shut that train of thought down again. He had Jimmy. Jimmy was the world.
