Bankotsu stuffs his hands into his dark jeans, stepping closer to her. The alley is dark, the only light coming from the street lamps at the very end. It smells like cat piss and vomit and it was stupid for her to come out here alone but she's all lean muscle under that tight dress, probably thinks she can handle any thugs that come her way. He smirks; well he can tell she hasn't met a nightmare like him before. His shoes scoff against the concrete as she lights up, those chestnut eyes snapping up to his face. Such a pretty face, he wants to ruin it.
"Sneaking away for a smoke, Taijiya?"
Her eyes narrow, cold enough to send chills up his spine. He can't help the grin that splits his lips, fingers twitching in his pockets.
"What do you want?" she hisses, voice like ice.

Bankotsu, leader of his band of brothers and highly paid mercenary by Naraku, can't believe his luck when he and Jakotsu spot Sango having a night out with her friends. Kohaku has learned a lot in his twenty-three years of life. The main thing is this: Sango did, does, and will always do everything in her power to take care of him. If that means selling her soul for a family she can trust and a roof over their heads and food on the table and education and some semblance of security – she’ll do it. She’ll make that choice again and again and again, never flinching. It’s why Kohaku loves her. It’s why Sango is his hero.
And it’s also why, when Sango has to go out on a new adventure, Kohaku will always be there to at least drive her.
