    Nearly one year after the Kraang and things have gone back to semi-normal. At least, as normal as could be: Splinter decided he wanted to start enforcing his traditional father role onto his sons. It would have been great--a dream come true, even--if it weren't such strict training that aggravated their chronic issues mixed with Splinter's confusing praise for his sons.

    Raphael, personally, was not gonna let that slide. He raised those boys from the time they were tots and Raph was barely a child himself, to present day where his brothers are his pride and joy. Raph may have made mistakes, but he will not let his brothers receive the same treatment as he did when he was a child--not when they were finally over their father's lack of attention.

As questions cloud his mind, fears blossom in the uncertainty of Raphael's condition. As they stay in this mysterious cave, Mikey realizes how much he valued their brotherhood. And how much he hated being alone. The cave, was really something... special.

    NO T-CEST, only brotherly love. Verse 2007, but it could pretty much work with any verse. TW: hinted minor (original) character death, and mention of cancer. Slightly graphic with depictions of gore. (No intestines or anything, but there's blood so it's worth noting.)

    Raph’s breaths came harsh and ragged, the snarl on his face making him look more like the impulsive, emotional brother Leo knew. For the first time since the turtles broke into Shredder’s lair and laid eyes on him, he looked like Raph again. Leo could feel the way his brother’s arms quivered through his grip on his katanas, and he fought to hide the optimism-relief on his face behind a cocky raise of an eye ridge.

    Then Donnie cried out behind him, followed by a crash, and it all fell apart again.

    AKA I thought the "mind-controlled Raph" concept in Clash of the Mutanimals was CRIMINALLY underutilized and should've lasted at LEAST a few episodes.

    It is then, as his eyes travel to follow Michelangelo, that Leo spots the way the water is dripping thicker now, seeping through the concrete of the ceiling. There are signs he has carelessly neglected – the cracking on the stone, the groaning of pipes around them. His cheerful mood snaps.
    Something must reflect this in his expression; Mikey pauses, a few feet ahead of him, face twisting to concern.
    “Leo –“ he begins, but is interrupted when everything shudders. Rubble drizzles, then throws itself upon them as the roof collapses under the strain of the water pipes.
    For a moment, Leonardo’s eyes meet his youngest brother’s and see the terror flash inside them. He barely has time to take another breath before the world caves in, and everything goes black.

    While the brothers are out exploring a new sewer system, the whole thing collapses. With no way to get out and separated from each other, they all face their own struggles, injuries and fears as they fight to survive and find each other.

    TLDR: a sewer caves in. Leonardo and his brothers are trapped because I like angst.

    Someone shouted behind him- a hand grabbed his shoulder, and made him turn around. It burned. It burned. Get rid of it, distraction, it kept him from punching, it was a distraction it burned- "Dude, stop, you're gonna hurt-"

    Crack.

    The one in red froze as soon as he felt something crack underneath his fingers. 

    Someone shouted, someone fell, and someone else grabbed him and pulled him away- but just before Raph could freak out over that, he was let go. There were still too many emotions bubbling under his skin- but the shock of what he had just felt had him frozen. Stunned, Raph just stood there.

    His hands ached. Numbly, he rubbed over his knuckles... and looked down.

    His fists were covered in blood.

    That... what had just-

    "Are you hurt anywhere, Mikey?"

    Or

    Raph didn't mean to hurt the youngest.
