Summary
Katara never really cared for the stories, but now, holding the Avatar’s heart in her hand, soaking herself in his blood, she wondered if anyone would notice if she made a few amendments.
First: The avatar is dead and everyone should run
Second: No one can save you
Alternatively: A role reversal AU wherein Katara and Sokka replace Zuko and Azula, respectively. A few changes are made, however. The largest being that the Avatar is dead. The next is that soon, all benders will meet the same fate, including the very one that killed him.
No matter what the people may think, no matter what the history books might say, they will never know that in these fleeting moments, she felt weak.

Summary
Katara had been so sure of her plan to liberate the prison rig. How was she to know how efficiently the guards would respond to an uprising? Zuko had been positive that his best course of action was to travel separate from his Uncle. What else was he supposed to do when he came across a person from his past? Sometimes, through all the doubt, two people collide. Eventual Zutara.
This is both a Canon Related and Canon Divergent, reimagined ATLA story. Katara joins Zuko in his journey of self-discovery across the Earth Kingdom as personalities clash and beliefs are questioned. Familiar allies and enemies await them along the way.
Ripple effects of having Katara absent from the majority of 'Book 1: Water,' are seen once Katara and Zuko meet up with the Gaang later on in the story. 'Book 1: Water' occurs mainly in the flashbacks of this story as Chapter 1 picks up close to the start of 'Book 2: Earth.'
The most recent chapters explore the aftermath of the conclusion of the Hundred Year War.

Summary
Zuko never chose exile. He never chose to be offered up as a living apology for a century of Fire Nation war. In the Southern Water Tribe, he is tolerated, tested, and hated in equal measure—an outsider meant to endure whatever anger the people still carry.
But survival in the ice does not allow distance. The hunts, the hunger, the grief—they bind him to those he was taught to despise. Especially her.

Summary
[“Right,” Hakoda manages. “An honor.”
“Once we will endeavor to meet with equal honor in return,” the Fire Lord says so quickly he starts almost before Hakoda gets out the last syllable.
“Sure.” Hakoda has to forcibly unclench his teeth to grind out, “We’re happy to welcome the delegation.” As if they had any choice in it.
Fuck, but it would have been a lot easier to say no if the Fire Lord weren’t dating his son.]
Or,
Zuko is nervous about making a good impression on his first visit South as Fire Lord, which certainly has nothing to do with meeting Sokka’s father.
Sokka is excited to see his boyfriend after months apart, and is absolutely totally fine with not being involved in the week’s political negotiations. Totally.
Hakoda already has a headache just thinking about how exactly he’s supposed to interact with a fellow world leader who is also a teenager, and also dating his son, and wait--Sokka’s old enough for dating now? When did that happen?

Summary
The firelord was coming to visit.
And Kanna was NOT happy.
Oh sure, she could recognize that he was much better than his predecessors, and she was grateful he had ended the war.
But she didn't like him.
How could she be expected to? He had invaded her village, grabbed her, insulted her, and then fought her grandson.
He had made her grandchildren leave her.
She would tolerate him, she decided, but she would not forgive him.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Or the story of how Kanna forgave Zuko for that first day in the Southern Water Tribe, and realized something about him and Sokka along the way.

Summary
When news of the war's end reached the South Pole it was too little too late, at least for Sokka, Katara and their family. At two years later, Kya's death still left them floundering on a cracked foundation as they struggled to cope with growing up without their mother. But the rest of the world rejoiced, and time moved on.
Then, eight years later, the Fire Nation returned to the shores of the Southern Water Tribe, this time bearing a letter from the Fire Lord himself. A request was made for an Omega of high standing to be sent back to the Fire Nation capital of Caldera with the intent of being wed to the Crown Prince. In exchange, gifts of valuable resources would be sent back to the Southern Tribe at regular intervals over the course of a several years.
The only stipulation was the Omega could not be older than the Alpha in question, and at 20 years of age, Sokka fit the criteria. When faced with the possibility of bringing his homeland prosperity for perhaps the first time in decades, well, the answer was clear. Sokka would have to swallow any distaste he still felt for the Fire Nation and allow himself to be wed to a complete stranger, thousands of miles from his home, perhaps never to return.

Summary
Day 6 – biological family | cooking
“You’re so strong baby,” he says, with big and exaggerated expressions, then drops his voice conspiratorially. “At your age, I used to be a little wimp.”
It works. She giggles and shakes her head like she’s obligated to defend her dad. “No you weren’t, you’re lying.”
“Nooo,” Sokka intones. “I hated being sick and I complained and complained and drove everyone up the wall.” He walks his fingers up her tummy to demonstrate, and she shrieks delightedly, twisting away.
“Just ask your Auntie Katara.”

ch 9
Sokka initially remembered up to before Kyoshi Island, and Katara remembered up to right before the comet. Zuko remembered only up to right before he found Aang. They all start remembering more, in chronological order, after each night of sleep, but Zuko is still way behind the others. He still doesn’t remember being friends or switching sides; and his low self esteem is having a very hard time coping with the fact that so many people care about him and think he’s great. They don’t know what caused the amnesia since the symptoms don’t match any poisons, and it’s not responding to water healing like the Dai Li brainwashing did. Aang leaves to consult Guru Patik and Huu and check that Toph isn’t missing any memories.
Katara finds out she’s pregnant, and she’s overjoyed but nervous. However Zuko is in a complete panic and depressed spiral. He shuts down and avoids Katara as much as possible. She becomes furious with the avoidance and physically confronts him in the sparring ring. When he tries to leave, she snaps and pins him down. He panics and shoves her off him with fire, and then is horrified by his reaction. Suki finds him alone that night and convinces him to undergo an earth kingdom “therapy” on a visiting earth kingdom ship to make him “safe” to be around. After he’s agreed and the “therapy” has started, it’s revealed to the readers but not Zuko be Dai Li brainwashing, and that they’ve already turned Suki into a sleeper agent. It’s unclear whether this was the source of the initial amnesia or if it’s going to be a new problem.

Summary
“The Agni Kai is more than a test of honor: it’s a brutal duel for total domination, where the loser not only forfeits their pride but their will and fate, left at the mercy of the victor. The punishment could be exile… or death.
Zuko, unwilling to let Azula die and knowing that exile in her fragile mental state would only lead her to ruin, acts in desperation to save her from execution. He unearths forgotten scrolls of the Fire Nation and discovers an ancient law: in a battle between an alpha and an omega, if the alpha falls, they lose everything; but if the omega is defeated, they can be claimed by the victor. After three years of dodging the inevitable, Zuko resolves to invoke this tradition for his sister.
Thus, Azula—humiliated and stripped of her power—is bound to Katara, the only one capable of defeating her, recently named chief of the Water Tribe over her older beta brother.
And, reluctantly, in an act of compassion, Katara agrees."(All characters involved in delicate matters are of legal age)
