Summary
Link stood, staring at the spot where Demise once stood. Smoke billowed from the place as the endless sky cleared. The darkness siphoned within the Master Sword. For a moment, he was lost. Floating through those clouds, the endless serenity where Demise cast his final words unto him. He dared to feel at peace.
The Sword that Seals Darkness gleamed in its pedestal, shimmering the same as the tears falling down Zelda’s cheeks. Their final goodbyes to dear friends rested with her, but the heart still yearned for them. Link turned, his own eyes watery as he faced Groose and Zelda.
It was over. They were going to be okay.

It was almost exactly the same way he’d once asked, ‘Who’s Ganon’ and Sky once more found the intense attention of the other eight heroes focused on him. It was even more uncomfortable than he remembered. “Uh…”
“Demise is the name of the evil entity Link fought to save Skyloft and the Surface,” said Zelda.

Ravio straightened up. “I am always ready to defend my wares, young sir! Would you be interested in this hammer here?”“Oh, well, I already have a hammer…” Wind said, his tone lacking certainty.
“Yes, but you don’t have this hammer with these abilities, do you?” Ravio pushed.
Large eyes narrowed, fixated on the aforementioned weapon. “Noooo…?” he said slowly, drawing out the lone syllable.
A hand smacked the back of Ravio’s head, his lowered hood leaving his hair as the only cushion for the blow. “I told you they’re all broke last time, so don’t even try it,” said Legend. He rolled his eyes.

“It’s not his fault Demise opened his big fat mouth and said those words. Sky just did what all of us heroes have been doing - just bumbling along, doing our best to get rid of the darkness and save the land and all the people living on it. He was simply the first of us to do so. There might have been one before, who knows? But if there is, he isn’t here on this era-hopping journey with us. Sky is. How could I hate him without hating the others and myself for our actions too?”

Ravio squished his cheeks slightly. “I know you will. You’re far softer than you’d have people believe, my light.”“Shush, don’t go giving away all of my secrets,” he said with a shaky smirk.
Ravio raised one dark eyebrow. “And who, pray tell, is around to hear?”
“You’d be surprised.”
A pause, then a sigh. “I hate that you’re right about that,” Ravio conceded.

“The hoarder knows how to hug?” Warriors asked, sounding surprised.“Why wouldn’t he?” countered Hyrule, completely baffled.
“And now the secret of his amazing hugs is no longer mine alone!” Ravio bemoaned dramatically, putting one hand to his forehead and letting the other clutch at his robe over his heart.
“It really is an amazing hug,” said Sky. His tone was full of wonder and the shaking had stopped.
Legend buried his face in Sky’s tunic. “Shut up!”

References! I love them! Who caught the Douglas Adams one?The royal decree regarding all daughters of the line to be named Zelda occured, timeline-wise, between Legend's last adventure and Hyrule's first, when one Zelda was forced to sleep until Hyrule woke her up at the end of his second journey (though some count AoL as his third). So, the fact that there are so many Zeldas before then is low-key hilarious. The Hyrulean Royal Family are unimaginative confirmed.
OoT owl reference. Because I could. Also, you can pry the headcanon that Wind is highly portable out of my cold, aching fingers lol
Why do I keep trying to subtly kill Four in my latest fics? Does my subconscious want a Four whump fic? Well, now the idea is in my head anyway. Thanks brain.

Summary
Sky feels guilty. Ever since the end of his adventure, he had known he had fucked up. But it was only after he had met his future reincarnations that he realized just how much he had failed. Even so, he does his best to enjoy his new friends' company, knowing that it can't last forever. Not after they figure out what he's done.
Wild is scared. He will never admit it, but he is the most terrified of his new friends - his new brothers - learning just how badly he failed. He is scared of them all learning how he died and left his best friend and his world to fend for themselves. He is scared of being shunned, of being thought of as any less of a hero than everyone else is.
And unbeknownst to our heroes, a darkness lurks, its millennia-old bitterness festering for just a little more, but they're patient. They can wait for the opportune moment where just one light push will make it all worth it. It has been ready for this moment for a long, long time. There is someone who wronged them, sent them spiraling into the most hellish existence possible.
They are going the watch the Chosen Hero of Hylia break, and they'll be wearing a smile.
