It was just another early shift. One he, in all honesty, hasn’t been looking forward to.
To be fair though, he didn’t think anyone in their right mind would want to wake up at 4am on a Sunday- let alone work on one. Wasn’t it supposed to be a day of rest or something?
It wasn’t fair that he had to come in just so people could get some shopping done.
Not fair at all. But the world didn’t run on fairness. It ran on money and convenience, at least that’s what Phil thinks. He can’t help but think it’s run more on his personal pain and suffering but nuance never served him much good when working in customer service.

Summary
Shaking hands tugged the collar of his ratty trenchcoat higher, fingers already numb from the pouring rain soaking him to the bone.
The mud tacked onto his boots forced him to skid, a grunt leaving him as he was sent tumbling to the ground. “Shit!-” his palms ached from colliding onto the rough tarmac, tiny stones lodging themselves into his skin.
He felt heat rush to the wounded area, a low throb working its way through his hands as he felt a familiar ache in his ankle. It was the same pain that taunted him when he twisted his leg during gym.
Mud coated the palms of his hands as he scrambled to push himself back up, ignoring the sting in his leg as he limped forwards, trying to move as quickly as possible.

Wilbur runs away and manages to seek refuge in a diner. The owner lets him stay but Wil can't help but feel that he's a little... off.

Summary
Maybe they bulk bought too many baby clothes.
Phil could admit that perhaps they got a bit too overeager and got more clothes than their sons could probably even wear before they outgrew them.
Somewhere in all the excitement he managed to find a goldmine of funny baby clothes and bought a box. Could you blame him when the advertised outfits were just so bad? They were going to have a field day when they finally got the chance to take those silly family photos together thanks to these things.
But it did mean that they had to sort through the rabble before actually finding the true gems within the box.

He didn’t know what was wrong with him.
He’d been trying, really he had. When Phil sat him down and offered to turn him he knew that it meant drinking the blood of other people. Unwilling people. He… he accepted that. Made peace with it just so he wasn’t so damn alone anymore.
Wilbur loved his new family. His coven. They were everything he ever wanted and his instincts latched onto them with no problem. Hell- even his turning was perfect. He wasn’t a fussy fledgeling, at least according to Phil, and he had no issue with feeding from him.
So he didn’t know why he just… couldn't feed.

Wilbur lays miserably in the nest while he self loathes about his instincts preventing him to properly feed on humans until, miraculously, a human comes and gives him all the answers he's been needing.
