Technoblade turns the machine on. And Philza prays to his lady death, his love. Technoblade chants a promise to his god, and Philza lovingly sings to his. This is who they are, this is what matters.
The portal flickered, particles beginning to form into existence, a screeching echo in the room before a blackness slowly formed in the frame of the portal, a dead-like feeling echoing through the room. It would be ominous, if Philza didn’t already know why it was like that.
To travel through time, one would condemn an entire past to cease to exist just to rewrite it.
It was unlike the end portal that held a galaxy in it. This was death, blessed by it. Pure darkness alone. The torches flickered red, and Philza could tell the Blood God gave its blessing too.

Thire stared at him from where he stood learned against the counter, slowly turned to look at the just opened box pack or artificial sugar Fox had left empty, and picked it up to look at the expiration date.
“Fox. This isn't even from this century.” Thire sounded dead.
“Huh,” Fox went, placing his empty mug on the table.
“Fox.” Thire’s eyes were haunted when they made eye contact with Fox. “Why?”
Fox does the smile, which all the shinies had dubbed as his horror smile, and shouldn't be used at any time at all.
Thire's will to lift visibly leaves his body.

Clémente Dearworth and Cole Seymour were known for their balancing act. Clémente the brawn to Cole’s brain. They had a balance between them. The sun and the moon in their dance. Capable vikings already, children. Peregrine August was a quiet one. A wise one. Earned that reputation with determination. A guide of wisdom, still a child. The accompanying north star.
Kingsley is a comet. Guiding the way maybe. If given the chance. Flinging themselves away to go. To seek. To learn. There is an importance to that. When there is a sun, moon and a star already. Kingsley is what leaves and comes back. Not revolving around another, but still in the axis. The opposite of a north star who stays to lead, a comet leaves and finds a path. The sun sheds light chasing away shadows and the moon reflects that light in the darkness.
They are a system within itself. With its own balance.
Child of chief, the people call Kingsley, expectations like boulders that Kingsley falls short of. It should not matter but it does, those gazes, that weight. It means far too much. Kingsley has borne it for its entire life. The urge to run snaps at its heels.

Summary
Bruce Wayne is dead. Or at least, he disappeared a long time ago. Gotham fell apart without Batman. Dick Grayson left to work with the Titans full time and Babs retired soon after.
Seven years later Gotham has been forcefully seceded from the United States and the Villains had taken over. Barbara Gordon, operating as Batwoman, is in desperate need of assistance and turns to Dick despite having lost contact.
Together the two form their own Batfamily, save Gotham. And perhaps learn the secret behind Batmans disappearance.
