Summary

Alexa looks over her shoulder, craning her neck like she’s trying to look behind the fieldhouse. She turns back around and titters, covering her mouth with her hand. “You’re cute.”
It’s…weird. This is weird. Alexa’s acting like the popular girls in movies do, not like herself at all. It’s not like he knows Alexa particularly well, but he did share his Math class with her last year, and she had possessed a sort of grace and quiet intelligence that seems absent now. He thinks about it for a second and decides she’s performing. For who and for what purpose, he doesn’t know.
He pulls his backpack up and hugs it to his chest like there’s something more precious than old books, memorised worksheets, and a dusty lunchbox inside. “Um. Why…why did you want to see me?”

“Hotch?” Morgan’s voice cracks over his shoulder.
With hands he’ll forever deny are shaking, Hotch reaches up and presses two fingers to Spencer’s carotid, even though he can feel him breathing. It’s faster than he would like, but it’s there, and it’s strong. “He’s okay, just unconscious,” he assures his other agent, whose hands hover over Spencer’s back like he’s afraid to touch him.
Gideon steps closer, reaching for one of Spencer’s arms. “Here, I’ll take—”
Hotch doesn’t let him finish the sentence, crouching down so he can hook one arm under Spencer’s knees, careful to keep the other supporting his back, then lifts him slowly. Sleeping people are heavy, and his ageing knees complain as he returns to a standing position, but he doesn’t blink.
Or: After being rescued from Hankel, Reid makes the perfectly reasonable decision to take a quick nap. So what if it's a little sudden and in the arms of his boss?

The villain chuckles softly, ignoring him. Instead, they tilt their head toward Aizawa, still staring at Midoriya. “Funny thing. He doesn’t make much noise anymore during our meetings. No matter what I try.” He leans closer to Midoriya, lowering his voice conspiratorially. “But he sure was concerned when you didn’t seem to be waking up. You… I can see it already. You’ll scream. And he’ll hate every second of it.”
Midoriya’s breath stutters.
The villain straightens, voice louder now, dripping with cruel delight. “But I’m nothing if not fair. Let’s make it interesting, shall we? Here’s the deal. Every time I decide to have some fun, you, my dear boy, get to choose. Him-” He gestures lazily at Aizawa, whose eyes flash with fury even through exhaustion. “Or you.”
Or, Midoriya and Aizawa are captured by a villain wanting revenge on Aizawa.

The smoke has cleared, the dead are back to life thanks to Nagato, and a new dawn breaks over Konoha. Naruto Uzumaki, the once-ostracized prankster, stands bathed in the jubilant cheers of the villagers he just saved. They hoist him high, a sea of smiles and gratitude, celebrating his incredible victory over Pain. He made Kakashi-sensei proud, he made Iruka-sensei weep with joy, and he is, finally, their undisputed hero.
Yet, as the shouts of "Naruto! Naruto! Naruto!" ring in his ears, a strange, cold knot tightens in his gut. He maintains a bright, unwavering smile, waving and laughing, but inside, a dissonant chord is struck.

Summary

He was (n̷o̷t̷) fine with being his only friend, hell, he kind of (h̷a̷t̷e̷d̷) liked it that way. No one wanted to be a part of Midoriya Izuku’s life except to torment it. When someone new comes along, Midoriya was a fool to think that things could be different this time.
The only good thing about Midoriya’s life before the new mysterious guy in his class, was that he could deal with the physical and emotional bullying. Now, however, he had to deal with heartache as well.
