Despite discovering space travel decades ago, humanity has yet to venture out of their home planet and properly introduce themselves to the rest of the galaxy. Most aliens don't see any humans in their lifetime unless they go to the Travel Stations and the Stationaries surrounding Earth in the Middle Ring.
Much like aliens don't know much about humans, most humans are blind to anything alien-related.
So, when Hannah ventures out into the Outer Ring it's with nothing except a backpack and a half-baked plan.
She doesn't expect it to actually get her somewhere.

Kris was done. They weren't going to tolerate the interdimensional invader in their ribcage any longer. And if they had to open a fountain to get rid of it, they were going to.
Or at least, they were. Until that invader offered something new: the chance to remember between resets. To make their own decisions with nothing more than some minor advice and a helping hand if requested. Naturally, Kris was interested. And that's why they woke up on Thursday morning, remembering two days that technically hadn't happened yet.
Messing with the code can be delicate work. Do the wrong thing at the wrong time, and the bridge might just break. Or change fundamentally.
It's a good thing nothing like that could happen, right?

Summary
The Dresqill had been a planet of conquerors that plagued the solar system, colonizing planets and enslaving their inhabitants.
Until Oblivion. Or Terra, as it was later renamed by the Council. The Dresquill ventured into the distant solar system only to send back frenzied reports and distress signals. It's unclear if they were left to die on that planet or if they were simply exterminated before help could arrive, but the reports they sent were saved and served as a warning to avoid Oblivion.
Now traffickers have managed to capture two creatures from Oblivion, placing them in the same cells as the other prisoners in an attempt to torture them. But perhaps these beings have been misunderstood this whole time? They look like of cute-- Nope, they're deadly.
