You stomp over to the table and slam the stack of documents down. "I'm gonna go ahead and scout the next room," you mutter, picking up your diving gear and crawling into the vent. The sound of A092's mocking laughter follows you on your way out.

He opened up the back of the van to take out his guitar, then sat on the floor next to Tommy to tune it. Once he had it tuned, he began to play a soft, gentle melody.
Watching the sunset against the cliff was amazing, and Wilbur had to stop playing to simply admire it with his brother. It was so easy to forget the reality of Tommy's situation, sitting here with him. At least until Tommy brought it up softly.
"When I die, can you have that song you played earlier, played at my funeral?" he asked.
Wilbur was shocked at the suddenness of it. "I can try, but it's one of my own songs and it's not on any music platform yet," he explained, coming up with a plan in his mind quickly.
"Actually, I have an idea–" he ran back into the van to grab his phone, some paper, and a pen– "How about I teach you the lyrics, and we record it together?"

This kid did not give him good vibes. And not in the way that he was scared Tommy was gonna do something bad, no. It was obvious the kid had experience with a not great server (which unfortunately Grian could relate to.)
Somehow, through all of this, neither of them noticed Mumbo entering the top of the cave, and only ended up realizing he was here when he finally had landed.
Mumbo eventually ended up seeing Tommy. And after a few, painful seconds of waiting for his response to this situation, Mumbo only managed to say a short sentence.

The world had already been on fire since before Tommy was born. When his parents were killed on duty as heroes, he started to see it. If the world was already burning, then surely trying to make it better couldn't do that much damage. And you can bet that's what Tommy was going to do. Even if he had to become a supervillain to do it.

Tommyinnit is a god trying to make his way through escaping exile. Three diner patrons will teach him companionship again.
Or, a competitive farmer, a critical writer librarian, and a daredevil pilot walk into a small town diner owned by a god who’s divinity is forgotten and found family, friendship, and healing ensues.
