Very few people have had chance to get close to Y/N since she moved into town and not that many actually want to get to know her better either - weird, mean, rude, and that's Steve Harrington being nice about her.
But something strange is about to happen in Hawkins that will force the pair together, and if they hope to survive, they'd better put their differences aside.
From unlikely circumstances, friendship will bloom, and what was once thought to be hatred may well get flipped upside-down.

Home from college with a barely passing GPA, recently dumped, and drunkenly careening down a dark country road to the tune of his own misery, Steve was aware that he might be depressed. Steve puts his head in his hands, raking his fingers through his hair as he readjusts his hat. What the fuck is wrong with your life, Harrington? he laments to himself.
Starcourt Mall is running a promotional campaign across their stores, offering discounts and deals to couples. Max Mayfield and Mike Wheeler take the opportunity to engage in one of their favourite past-times: bullying Steve Harrington.

On break one day, he finds out delightedly that there's a campy nautical ice cream shop called Scoops Ahoy, which to his even bigger delight has Steve Harrington dressed up in the most childish, goofiest, Halloween style sailor's uniform. The sight of that uniform gets Eddie into trouble staking out Scoops everyday. Misunderstanding endsues and Eddie has to figure out how to get out of the mess his crush and that dumb uniform have gotten him into without outing himself.

Steve was starting to notice the little things Eddie did. His tongue would stick out whenever he was concentrated, his eyes would light up whenever he’d find rusty metal on the ground – he had a rusty nail collection in his drawer and a collection of hubcaps under his bed – and he would speak with every inch of his body in a way that Steve couldn’t look away from. It was terrifying, being this borderline obsessed with someone just because he thought they were cool. And funny. And entertaining. And more. God, a lot more.
The first three times they officially met, neither Eddie nor Steve thought anything good of the other. However, Eddie keeps crossing into Steve's world, and, somehow, Steve doesn't mind it. What the hell is happening to him?
