Summary
A laugh bubbled from his chest, smile too sharp for his face as he shot another arrow across the room. The scheming was fun, but the carnage was better. So much better. Grian hadn't been born with bloodlust in his veins, but he'd grown up to enjoy it with every fiber of his being. Starting this war had been the pettiest thing he'd done for sure, but the resulting chaos and the way Scar grinned at him made it all worth it.

Scar studies him. Glances at the feathers curtaining his view of the throne room's entrance, then slides his gaze back to Grian's dancing eyes. Fighting a losing battle is difficult enough; fighting one you've lost before it's even begun is impossible. "Yeah, alright," he says, resigned to the tendrils of fondness cinching thorny vines around his heart. "Let's hear it."
Another flash of teeth, dyed red in the light spilling through Grian's feathers. "The 'Not A Resistance' Resistance," he says, low and teasing, "would like to cordially invite you to kiss me stupid." He lets that simmer in the shred of air between them before tacking on, measured and thoughtful: "This is a time-sensitive invitation, by the way, so you should figure out your answer in the next ten to fifteen seconds."

Summary
Really, Scar should probably have foreseen this when he’d chosen to build the vast majority of his home out of copper. It rarely rained on Hermitcraft, but now whenever it rained it seemed to be heavier and the skies filled with electricity. It wasn’t just a shift in the mood, but a shift in the atmosphere. The world swung from extremes of glorious, sunny days to thunderous storms in a matter of hours.

It was no secret that almost every Hermit had, well, a secret. The Server had relatively few rules, but one of those few rules was to not ask about the past of another Hermit. They were friends, they trusted each other, they didn’t need to know where they’d come from or what they’d done. If they wanted to keep things a secret, if they wanted a chance to move on, to be safe, to start afresh, they were completely entitled to it. If they wanted to share part of their life, it was done on their terms. There were plenty of Hermits that did choose to share parts of their life.
But not Grian. Never Grian.
He would take his past to his grave, whenever and wherever that happened to be.
