    The first story arc begins as witch-detective Grace Morgan arrives in Wicker Creek, then the mysterious world of Grimstead, hidden away in Blackwood Forest, where she visits the Crying Wolf, fights the Old Shuck, and meets a carriage which carries her to her fate.

    The horror and drama begin in this six-part premiere arc, rewriting and adapting the events of the 2015 novella series for the modern, serialized format of Pick-n-Mix Comix — to eventually include both the written novellas and never-yet-written-or-published outlines for the rest of that universe's stories as well.

    After some further work on Dragorean wordlists and sentence structure, I found I needed to make my own categorization system in order to be able to scan for useful words according to parts of speech and use within a sentence.

    Word order is generally SVO, like English, but it's intended in a way where that can be tossed up at will by certain dragons if they want to. Like Yoda.

    Very limited vocabulary, so not much to say with it. Trying to be able to translate Breaking Bad, and the "I am the danger" monologue specifically, which I'm realizing is way more difficult than it should be due to all the rampant colloquialisms which don't seem like they would exist in Dragorean culture. So, what even is the culture of dragons? We're gonna find out.

    For reference, the line:

    I am not in danger, Skyler. I am the danger.

    Translates to:

    Na nima wuk gruvo vus muhira, Zokailar. Na nima wuk tu muhira wisa.

    The scrap of what was one of the first "litcoms" I did, a "literary comic" to tell the superhero's story, back in late 2012. This followed up on my work with the Supergirls In The Spotlight character blog and was supposed to be my way of transitioning the story toward the litcom format, but obviously I never finished it.

    Later that year, I started posting all the canonical, pre-Sorrows Of Blackwood stories on A Story I Would Tell so I ended up pulled away from Solar Girl for quite a bit. Now, with Serien Serials first chapter coming up, I'm reformatting those stories and other 2011 to 2013-era content to serve as "prelude" stories to the current Pick-n-Mix Comix continuity, as they should be.

    This is one of the earliest ones, so it counts as part of the canon, even though it's unfinished and I never released it. In this one, Solar Girl fights the elemental menace known as Jack Frost, threatening Spotlight City with his cold, wintery powers.

    Made this random moodboard/collage/faceclaim ident, I guess? For some Serien Serials characters of mine. They haven't been introduced yet — and honestly, probably won't be in the version I'm writing now anyway — but still have a place in my writing mind, they're pretty iconic for me.

    Rachel is a fashion designer hopeful, desperate to leave her small town of Sideshow City behind for the big city and university, while Rebecca — who goes by "Beck" — is her twin sister who is a total trash gremlin. I made these in like 2011 before the modern concept of "trash goblin 'tism girl who does nothing all day" was widespread popular on social media, but that's Beck 100%; androgynous, genderless, often overstimulated, and doesn't really care much so she just wears neutral greys most of the time, and Rachel hates it.

    Rachel thinks she needs to look after Beck and hasn't really realized yet that Beck doesn't care and it's Rachel's fault for feeling obligated and not just leaving to pursue her dreams already, which obviously Beck would support completely. Plus it leaves Rebecca alone to not care in peace. Yay.

    I decided to upgrade my skills a bit and switch to trying out digital art for a while, or at least a few tries. It works out well! I wasn't sure about it, but it got some decent pieces done, and I have a few others I'm working on too. I mean these are just sketches, but the characters and colors are iconic enough anyway that it gets the point across.

    The Red Door, Grace Morgan, Dr Connector, Captain Mytho, and the Byrennians are already here, but I might update it if I do more for this idea. Which I might. I probably won't. But I might.

    In 1984, there is no Gallo Belgrave. There is no Common Grounds. There barely remains a Grimshaw after the multiple crises of the early 80s saw the town bereft by vampires, revenants, demonic cultists, and the mutant origins of the Miasment Crisis that ravages Inglenook all the while.

    There is barely an Alderghast. There might no longer be a Kingdom of Inglenook, if the creatures born from the Miasment pandemic have their way with things. In the midst of it all, the vampire former-queen Sable Belgrave has amassed a group of psycho-killer cohorts from Grimshaw called the Slashers, at first for war, and now for a much more valuable goal: Gallo Belgrave has disappeared, and only his twin sister Sable seems interested enough to find him.

    Leaving Grimshaw behind, Sable and her Slasher friends find ways to adjust to the world of Inglenook and its warm, industrial, hospitable-for-no-reason, capitalist affairs where everyone wants friendship and no one wants to commit horrible crimes in the dark of night — while journeying their way through the cities of Blackwood Forest to Alderville, gateway to the realm of Elder Hollow — in the hopes that brother Gallo would be waiting there for Sable's bite.
