Out of all the resort hotels or Air BnBs we could have rented in Nassau, my husband chose an aesthetic concept hotel.
The concept being “immersible” and “transparent”.
Meaning that every single room was underwater. The hotel grid was underneath sea level, topped by the hotel lobby and restaurant that sat up on the docks for easier delivery access.
Elevators took us down to dark, narrow submarine-like corridors whirring with machine noise, throbbing with the endless undulation of power supporting an abomination of a contraption, and our ears popped from the pressure. This couldn’t possibly be up to the fire safety codes.
