Summary
“Eighteen years ago, an earthquake ripped through Gotham City, and in the aftermath, instead of helping, the US government sealed the city under a ‘quarantine’ and left them to die. Two years later, when signs of life and even civilisation were still detectable inside the shattered city, the government sent the military in to reclaim and rehabilitate Gotham. Gotham has not forgotten, and they have not forgiven either.”
An AU where an altered version of No Man’s Land happened while Bruce was in his late teens/early twenties, and Batman was born in the hellish crucible of a trapped city that was left for dead and then violently retaken. Gotham may pretend to run by mainlander rules for the sake of those who would have died otherwise, but under the surface, Bruce, Jim, Leslie, Ivy and Oswald and their pack keep their own council, and look with jaundiced eyes on the mainland.

His mouth fell open, and he snorted, which evolved into full-out laughter. ‘I’m sorry. Oh my god - friends?’
Diana felt a little hurt on Batman’s behalf. ‘Are you not his friend?'
He shook his head. ‘Did B really not say anything? I’m hurt. No, I’m not his friend. I’m his son.’

And therefore, it was in no way his fault he decided these Teen Titans kids were his, and Batman could fuck off if he said otherwise. Now he just needed to kidnap mini-him and mini-replacement, and he'd have fucked over the bat for life.
It was all the universe's fault. And maybe the replacements for replacing him in the first place.

But, somehow, after I wrote the skeleton for this series, my playlist hit me with the perfect songs for each part consecutively. I just loved how the songs fit perfectly with the theme of each story and how they all share the Carry On motif. It was fate!

A new group has made themselves known on the web, playing a twisted game in which they've set up a system for people to vote on which kid hero should be hunted for. The winner who kills said hero - gets a large sum of money.
This garners the attention of the Red Hood: a figure in Gotham who has just made himself known in the community as an upcoming crime lord.
During his mission to reign crime-alley, he had a strict set of rules laid out. One of those rules just so happens to be that - kids, are off limits.
The world is about to learn about that specific rule, real soon.

Summary
The destination he has in mind is unclear — unnamed, yet, more accurately. Jason doesn’t know where he’s going, or what he’s going to do when he gets there. A few hours’ drive just didn’t seem far enough to be away from the expanse of Gotham, not when Bristol itself rolled out several miles around the city proper, so he cranked it up a few hours. Chicago seemed like a far enough place away, until he got onto I-80 and a terror seized him as he remembered Dick had spent a brief stint as an officer in Chicago. So he kept driving west.
Keeps. Keeps driving west. Jason Todd has no idea where he’s going or no idea what he’s going to do when he gets there, but he knows with certainty three things:
Jason Todd is a wanted man.
Jason Todd is the Red Hood.
And Jason Todd absolutely cannot go back home.
