Suddenly, all at once, the grief hit her in a wave so fierce that her knees buckled. A sob tore itself from her lungs as she crumbled to the floor, her skateboard slipping from her fingers and hit the tile with a loud clatter. Mike jolted and grabbed her as she fell, and without really thinking, she latched onto her friend and hid her face in his shoulder.
Billy was dead.
Billy was really dead.
Mike’s arms wrapped around her after a few seconds, his chin now resting on her shoulder as she sobbed into his.
It felt like she was dying.

He unconsciously removed his hand from his thigh, and hugged the Iron Man plushie instead of raising it to his mouth, like he most likely would have done if he was still small. He clasped the plushie for the rest of the ride, now very conscious of where his hands were, keeping them occupied so his fingers didn't end up in his mouth a second time. Of course he remembered the pacifiers, and how comforting they felt. How could he forget?
He wished he could forget the comfort that the soothers, among everything else, had brought him.
Or, in which, Peter is suffering the many side effects from Loki's spell, all the while dealing with the many new memories he had gained, and maybe even longed to have again.

All Peter and Tony had to do was cross the mountains. That’s it. Just climb a few hills and get to the annual Stark Convention. Tony wanted to try something different, a father-son trip as opposed to just taking the boring old private jet. Maybe stop at a cabin on the way back, taking a little family vacation.
They didn’t count on the snow, or the wind, or the fact that neither of them have cell service.
And they definitely didn’t count on the fact that they would be hunted—stalked—as they sit, freezing and shaking, on the side of the road.
